Brake Fluid Amount

I've dug around on here for awhile and I keep seeing different amounts from some people (unless I am reading incorrectly) so I'm going to come right out and ask.

I am getting my brake fluid changed in my 2018 SS 1LE for some up coming track days and want to know how much brake fluid to get. The most common answer I found is 1 liter so I bought three 500ml bottles of Motul RBF 660 so that gives me 1 liter and a half to work with but that will that be enough to get through a full brake flush/refill

The BG brake fluid exchange machine at work uses a 2qt jug.

Every time I do mine I end up only needing 0.9L for a thorough flush with my Motive bleeder. If you're not paying attention to when the old fluid is done purging through each bleeder then you'll use more.

I can also do the full car in a little less than 1 L doing the pedal apply method.

Use the clearest line you can on the caliper to make it easier to see the fluid color change. Can also use a syringe to get as much old fluid out of the reservoir before adding the new fluid to make the fluid color change less blended.

Flushing fresh fluid with expensive fresh is such a headache

I make sure I have 2L to ensure it's all out

Awesome, thank you all, I made sure I got 2 liters of Motul RBF 660 on the way. I did see where Castrol SPF seemed to be another high choice as well so depending how I like the Motul's, I'll switch to Castrol.

I am looking at maybe doing 3 track days inside of 35 days so the brakes are going to get a workout for sure

Thanks for this tip! I know it's 4 years later, but a great idea as I will be tackling this job soon.
