Give up my Camaro?

I’m seriously thinking of trading by Camaro in for a 2021 BMW 430i xdrive coupe fully loaded. Who thinks I’m making a mistake?

Yes I know it doesn’t have as much horsepower but when I sat in it it felt very luxurious. I have to admit I would miss my Camaro a lot! Just looking for some feedback

430i is a very nice car but hope you plan on trading it in after complimentary maintenance or you lease it. They are brutal to the wallet after maintenance wise.

This... Everyone I know with a BMW spends a lot on maintenance after the complimentary period is over...

They are 2 VERY different cars, all depends on do you prefer an "American Muscle Car icon" or do you want to just be another "German Import" on the roads... I live in SoCal, can't spit without hitting a BMW or Mercedes, I like having something different...

I traded my M4 for a SS 1LE. It was quick and felt “luxurious”. SS is a lot more fun, handles better, and the exhaust is awesome. The exhaust note on the BMW is the stereo .

Also, I had to rev the BMW to have any fun. I had to get the turbos spooled up. The SS is a blast to drive even at low RPMs esp. w/NPP and rev match.

I didn't have any issues with the BMW (50K miles when I traded it in), but I always felt like I was going to break something. Therefore, I never really drove it hard after the warranty expired. With all the plastic, timing chains and guides, I felt like I was on borrowed time. I got a fantastic trade in offer, so I took it.

Things I miss on the BMW: sunroof, little storage compartments, full size center armrest, nicer touch plastics/leather, back seat room, dealership (free drinks, food, and a movie while waiting).

That being said, once I push start on the SS, all that is forgotten I'd never go back to the BMW.

Go for it if a BMW will make you smile and enjoy the drive! Good luck with your decision.

Are we 100% sure there will be a 2023 Camaro? GM would give us warning if 2022 was THE last year right?

It all depends on what you are looking for. I have tried my friend's 435i M-package. It's a nice ride but it doesn't really entice me as much as the Camaro does. The exhaust is pretty quiet but at least the N55 doesn't sound like the weed whacker that is the S55. It's a more "civilized" car while Camaro is more harsh and wild.

As others said, maintenance also gets frequent and expensive after the warranty expires. Even my friend got an extended warranty on his 435i. Personally, if I am going German, I will only settle for a Porsche.

It's for sure not 2022, they haven't finished clearing the warehouse out yet.

But, the Camaro will most likely end in 2023 or 2026.

End as in there won’t be a 2023?

Camaro is Nascar, It took several years for them to change over to the camaro and you would have seen testing so I don't think anything will happen within the next 3-4 years. When you see Chevy testing a new model then get worried.

Totally nuts! Trade in a high performance muscle car for that? NO!! Repairs are a factor too and the BMW is more bland. The Camaro is more stylish, muscle and a blast to drive.

Porsche without IMS is actually not too bad when it comes to reliability, but they will cost you more money to maintain it. That said, with the extra cost comes more competent customer service than most GM dealers.

BMW in general is meh but E9x M3 is actually kind of a cool car with the S65 engine if you can put up with some of the quirks of it.
