Heat extraction
What has been the latest info and results on heat extraction hoods, vent inserts etc? Any problems with water ingress or other issues? Down south it gets terribly hot with the weather especially sitting still. Add headers , supercharges etc and I'm sure things made of plastics and electricals will be begging for relief. Is it worth cutting or changing hoods to provide heat extraction or best to leave it be?

You guys want to know what hot is go to Iraq.
OP, as far as Hex Vents go they are designed to prevent water from just pouring down on top of your engine.

HPE HexVents FTW!
 I drive my car year round and I haven't had any issues with water. You can see the heat pouring out of the vents at stoplights. I can only imagine what it would look like with the added heat from a supercharger.

Our 14 has the heat extractor hood stock and I can also see a really good heat mirage over the vent at stop lights. This is just in N. Texas when we get to 100 each summer, but not melt your ass hot like those that have been in Iraq or Afganistan, or any desert therefore...
Dry heat or not, I do not car to stand in a hair drier. Phoenix was nuts like that. Just oppressively hot!

See above, heat extractors definitely help.
But to add to the other discussion, I have also been around the world, and Southern Louisiana, on the Gulf of Mexico is the hottest of all. 105 degrees with a billion % humidity is no joke (Florida is the same story, anywhere around the Gulf/Swap). Dry heat doesnt bother me at all, even at 110 degrees.
