Weird Thing Happened to Audio/Nav System

Something weird happened while just driving along... The audio/navigation system just went completely black. It was working fine one minute and just completely went black the next minute and would not come back on. I was on my way to a grocery store, so I shut the car off when I got there and waited about 3 or minutes and started it again. The audio/nav system was still out, so I called my dealership as I was walking into the store. They said they'd never heard of this happening, so I made an appointment to take it in the next day. After about 30 minutes in the store, I returned to my car and started it up and the audio/nav system was working again.

Anyone else had this happen?

I had that happen while I was at the dealership once. The service manager did a disconnect;waited 30 seconds, and reconnected the battery and the radio started working again. I was then told it is because the amp will sometimes get hot and cause this problem.

I was driving and started to get a little hot, went to turn my air condition on, and to my surprise nothing was working. Heated seat, would not work as well. My audio and nav was working but any of the controls that function the air or heater did not work. When I arrived home, and I shut it off and waited and turned it back on and still did not work. I called made an apt, and put the car up for the night, to my surprise it started fine the next morning. The dealership said they could not troubleshoot it cause it was working fine. It has not happened since, so just keep an eye for it. Hopefully it was just a glitch and you wont have no serious problems, but its under warranty anyways. Good luck.

Audio system also "freezes" up a lot when connected to my iPhone... Happens regardless of whether listening to music through Bluetooth or when connected via USB port. I get the message, "Audio Paused". After a minute or so, it'll start playing again; other times, I have to manually press "Play".

Really annoyed with audio/navigation system issues!

I have same Issue system will lock up nothing on radio works. I press and hold power button and it resets to the startup screen and comes back on. Maybe a little to much going on for what ever tiny processor the put in it.

Same exact issues on mine with my iPod or anything using the USB port. Have had it in twice for"software" upgrades.

Just happened to me today. I was playing tunes from my iPhone through bluetooth and the fan/AC would not come on. After a minute or so, it finally kicked on. Weird.

Sounds like an overheating issue. GM will have to look into that! With all the electronics running, a LOT of heat is generated and if tightly packed in the dash without any air circulation, they are going to have overheating problems.

I had it happen once after I had it cranked for 15 min. I think the amp gets hot.

Once in awhile the radio will go to AUX without me touching anything. After a few seconds it bounces back and forth then its fine

Couple of days ago I tried to turn on my AC but nothing would happen, it would just display at 0. After trying about 8 times it finally kicked in. Couple hours later I was driving home and it decided to turn my volume from 16 to 24 by it self. Just got back from a furneral, wonder if my Grandmother is messing with me.
