Buying a 2013 1LE...BUT

Hey yall! I'm interested in purchasing another 1LE that I found locally. I used to have a summit white 1LE 2 years ago and really miss the damn car and I bumped into this one. Everything seems to be in working condition BUT there is a whine coming from the trans when in gear, as soon as I press the clutch or leave it in neutral, the noise goes away. There are no grinding noises when I shift, just that whine. My old 1LE did not have that sound, would this be a shaft bearing going out or a throw out bearing? How much would it be to get it repaired properly? it has 125k miles....Here are some pics

I'm inclined to think it's a throw-out bearing, based on the change in sound as the clutch is engaged/disengaged. What is the sound in neutral, clutch engaged (pedal out)?

pedal out, in neutral, no noise.

i can hear it when in gear slowing down or gaining speed.

I’m going to guess some problem with the main shaft / bearings in the tranny. In gear, the main shaft and countershaft are turning. In neutral, only the main drive input and countershaft is turning while the disengaged gears spin on the idle main shaft.

At a buck and a quarter miles, you’ll probably need some slush fund for repairs but it does look nice.

I love that that 1le harkened you back to the folks. These cars are such a hidden gem,I also love that most people have no idea what they are.
As for the noise, get her checked out, if it's a no go, find another car.
I went 900 miles to get mine.

Thanks everyone for the input! And I love the color, it's a beautiful car. Only reason I'm interested is because the price is 14k, clean title car. Mileage is about what I e seen some of these car have, but Im not surprised if it was abused. I know I ran my last 1LE pretty hard. And I also love that everyone thinks it's just another regular SS. I guess that is why this one is cheap lol

What am I looking at if I end up getting it? Kinda sucks to be giving paymemts and then have to dish out more cash for a trans rebuild

Doubt it would be throwout bearing, when mine exploded i heard no type of whine, though my tranny does whine and has been for a minute, second gear grinds and pushes me out of gear quite frequently, you can tell this trans gonna go eventually, just waiting for it to happen, basically doed the same thing as the car your speaking of
