What have you broken on your camaro?

Salivations!

I thought it would be interesting and helpful to learn from owners what STOCK components folks have broken, what the situation was when it broke (road course vs drag strip vs street and current build details), and what the fix was.

Me, I've broken stock axels twice on NCM road course. Stock power outside of CAI and cat back. No upgrade as of yet.

I have broken 33 lug studs so far. Yes, this is a mystery... been looked at, studied, theorized upon, guessed at, and there seems to be no solid answer, as it is still happening. Stock steelies, no accidents, correct torquing, nothing unusual. I just keep a big pile of replacement studs on hand, and damn near every time the wheels are removed, I have a stud or two to replace. It's a pain in the tail, but, hey... at least I'm getting good at it!

My passenger presence sensor (that senses when somebody is riding shotgun, and sets the airbag) went out around 100,000 miles... $900 for that.

My battery and alternator went out simultaneously around 118,000 miles; one probably contributed to the other.

I've been though about 40 tires... that would be entirely the fault of the driver, who enjoys the hell out of his daily commute along many miles of mountain roads.

I'm at almost 130,000 miles on my daily driver, and with only those issues, I'm feeling pretty good about the car!

A rocker and valve spring on cylinder 3. Cost me $500 to repair as I was out of Warranty. No issues or broken items since then.

Aside from stuff wearing out on me, I shockingly think I haven't broken anything, at least not mechanically, cosmetically I tapped someone who stopped short though

Have u tried changing the rims? Those steelies are extremely ugly anyways. I have no clue why GM used them on their new Camaro.
