New Camaro VS Used Corvette?
Long story short, I thought I was going to have a new Camaro, but the key recall botched that up so we bought another vehicle instead. Now I'm sorta looking at different options.
I found two low mileage Corvettes within 200 miles of me on auto trader and got me to thinking of other options. Which of these three would you choose? 2009 Vette with 17K miles for $31K 2012 Vette with 13K miles for $40K New 2015 Camaro SS |

Did you really not buy a Camaro because of the key?

There is NOTHING like new. I'd get the camaro. But this is my 14th camaro. I'm 50. It's been a long crazy ride so far and I enjoyed every mile and every memory. Or to really save some cash look for a leftover. I just bought last Saturday a 2013 1SS/RS M6 with Boston sound system, polished 20" wheels, and dual mode exhaust with 1,100 Chevy owner driven miles on it for $24,400!!! And it's GM Certified! I bought the silver door and dash inserts used on here for $150 and the guage package for $379 brand new. I don't like leather so the seats are perfect for me. Now I have a virtually new car for about $13,000 less then a new car lol. Payments are $399 a month without a cent down. You can't beat this deal with a stick. Look around......it's close to winter. The dealers are scared of another winter like last year and don't want camaro's or vetted around. There are good deals to be had. Good luck!!!

Don't get a 2009 vette, and don't get a 2012 vette. If you're gonna get a vette, go to carmax and look at a used 2014. (They have those now... crazy.) Or just go with the 2015 SS.

If you just want something new to cruise around in the Camaro might be a good choice. I don't think there's much difference between the '09 and '12 they both have LS3s and given the price advantage i'd probably with with the '09. I'm more of a performance oriented guy though and I like the Stingray, but the C6 is just as fast around the track and MUCH cheaper.

I'd go with the '09 Vette. Only advantage that the 2015 Camaro would have over it is it being brand new which if the '09 was taken care of very well, there won't be much of a difference. If your looking for performance then Vette is the way to go. The '09 and '12 both have an LS3 so performance wise they're the same. I would go for the '09 over the '12 and use the extra cash for some mods.

No brainer man. Get a 09 C6 and be very happy! No comparisons to an ss which is going to tank when the 6th gen hits anyway. I have an 09 C6 Z06 as well and its a different animal to an ss. Btw zero differences (mechanically) to a 08-13 C6. You will not be disappointed.

New or used, I'd take the 5th gen Camaro over a Corvette.
