Moving '13 SS From FL to CA help

Hi everyone. I have some questions if some of you guys could help please.

I am trying to gather info on what I would need to do to convert my 2013 L99 Camaro SS to California emissions.

It was bought and titled in Florida.

I have only done a intake and Axle back mufflers.

I read a ZL1 thread where a boardie stated he wanted to do the same thing but from NC, and he said there was a 50 state emmissions tag?

Where can I find this? And what else would I need to do?

I'm trying here to find things myself and I figured the best way to ask is by all you guys who might have the quickest knowledge.

Thanks guy
Ryan

Stock intake and you'll need a smog check to get your tags.

Ok so stock intake back on, get tags, then put intake back on. Every year then I'd have to put stock intake on?

You only need to smog in California if the car is older than 5 years, or your bringing it infrom out of state. Once you get it tag here you should not need to smog again until 2018.

+1

Exactly what Mike said, unfortunately this great state we live in doesn't like fast and loud cars. But anyways good luck once you get it smoked you are off the hook for a couple years haha so after that mod on

I am moving to San Diego with my ZL1. My car is tagged in Florida, and do not plan on changing the registration because I am military. Will I be required to do anything when I get there?

The only time you will need to visit the smog station is when you need to apply for post decal. Post requires a smog test for any out of state vehicles.

You shouldn't need to do anything. You follow the rules of the state your vehicle is registered in. Of course your HOR will need to be FL as well.

That's not always true. I was pulled over while in ND for tint and the highway patrolman showed me a regulation that if military and stationed in another state (dont remember if all or just ND) you had to follow the rules there even thought licenses and plate were my hor state

I believe at one point Cal would not let you register a new car from another state, with less than 7500 miles on the odometer w/o Cal emissions certification from the manufacturer. Just saying you may want to get the whole story from a DMV source to be safe.
