found a new 2012 SS

just 33 miles from here. MRSP is 41800ish, for a 2012 what would be a good price to ask? they have it down to something like 37.5 or something like that. see as we are up against winter and these kind of cars can sit for a few months this time of year around here I was thinking of offering 32 and see if there serious about moving it. seriously doubt they would do that but what have I got to lose right anyone think that is crazy?

with the 13's and 14's out, they will be very willing to negotiate. i think going in at 32 is smart. a few months ago i paid 26 for my 2012 1lt RS while the sticker said 31.5, go in with 32 and i think you'll stand a chance. good luck let us know how you make out

There are actually a few '12s around. I'm not sure they are worth it though. You could probably get a '13 for the sane or similar price and it hasn't sat for a year. The experience I had is that dealers aren't trying too hard to get rid of the 12s.

Dude get a 13 for around the same price. The my link is worth it and the 13 will me much easier to sell down the road simply beaches it has the upgraded dash.

Saw that one online, has to have been sitting there around 2 years based on its vin.
Cars like that sit forever for two reasons
1) They're so oddly optioned, nobody wants them
or
2) The dealer is the type that waits forever for a big fish to come in that he can hook.

Regardless of what you pay now for a new 2012 car, you will face a huge depreciation
factor as soon as you drive off the lot. It's a 2 year old car regardless of the mileage.

the grand scheme is to start looking for sure come april, want a black 2014 SS if I can find a used one at that point. Might settle for a 2013 but has to be low mileage, something below 5K. I figured I would kick a few tires and see if I could get a deal but don't see it happening. will just wait til spring!

LOL....just got an email seeing if I was still interested, told them in the response that no one in the area wants to sell me a Camaro, and that they were selling a two year old car for 2014 prices. etc. Told them that I had plans to go to the DC area this week end(which is the truth) and looking at getting a 2014 1SS. guessing it's the end of the month, and the cold weather is setting in and they are looking at that 2012 that has been sitting there for a while and realizing that thing might still be there come spring!

Can't say you weren't honest with them LOL.

Every once in awhile I'll come across a "yard ornament" or " Lot Queen "that someone was extra proud of. And then they realize - its gotta go !

Beat em down on price when they finally figure out what they have on their books.

My wifes new Chevy was tucked between year old new Cadillacs at a Chevy Buick Cadillac dealer.
No one knew it was in inventory(2 years) when I came in to buy it.
