I'm waiting to see how much the new Stingray will be.
Might just abandon my Camaros for one. |

It has probably been sitting on their lot for a good minute, so they marked it down. If you notice the MSRP for the vette is still higher then the ZL1.

For a GS 3LT that is pretty darn cheap... someone better jump on that if they're looking for a vette!

You have to be very careful about these "advertised prices". I went through this with some guy showing ZL1's for less than sticker price, when most dlrs are charging $5000+ over sticker, while they can.
Any car at any dlr will be "on special sale", they will even show the VIN number. You can call and ask if that very car via the VIN # is still there. 100 of 100 times will be yes, it is here. When you get there, magically disappeared, just sold, amazing. "But there is another just like it for "just a littttttttttttttttttttttllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeee eeeee bit more". It was called "bait and switch" back in the day, perhaps it still is, the logic sure is the same. Good luck, let us know how you turn out. I would be thrilled for you and humanity to prove me wrong on this. |

C6 vettes are dirt cheap now thanks to the C7. You can get around $16,500 off MSRP on all models.

The do at one time have to have it on the lot and be able to show the sale. I was fortunate enough once to buy a truck that was under such a VIN and cause the are such a good deal thats why they arent around long

Not new news really. Back in Aug '12 when I was shopping for my last car, I was contemplating both a ZL1 and a Grand Sport with the 3LT package. I ended up purchasing a nicely equipped Grand Sport for $1000 cheaper than the ZL1 I considered.
It's not just the ZL1 that out-prices the Corvette. There have been a few dealers on the Corvette forum offering regular Corvette coupes as low as $36,000 if you can take advantage of the $3000 loyalty rebate and $39,000 if you can't. Obviously this under-prices a nicely equipped 2SS/RS. Corvette is a great performance value right now. You just have to be ready to take the large depreciation hit once the C7 hits the streets.

For me the decision to by the SS was not a $$ issue.
I owned a C5, bought it new in 03.... loved the car. My SS is not a DD, BUT I needed a back seat now. |

I'm not to surprised. There are tons of vettes out there and people will be more interested in the C7. Those that are looking for a bargain know they have dealers right where they want them. Once those C7's hit the lots the C6's are gonna be a tougher sell. So the smart dealers are gonna began to take decent hits now to move what inventory they have before they get stuck with them and really have to take a bath.
I'm sure they will more then make up the difference by gouging people on the new one when that comes out.

I'd take a c6 without regret.
I don't think a grand sport 400+ hp corvette can be compared price-wise to a 580+ hp supercharged camaro. |
