First Post, Big Decision

Hello All. I have been reading this forum for weeks now, as well as researching the Camaro. I am a 50 year old guy that wants to purchase a Camaro as his daily driver. Don't want to race it, don't want to change the tires every 15K miles, don't want to garage it for 4 months a year, just want to drive it because I LOVE the way it looks. I also want all the creature comforts; leather, etc. So, I ask you, the experts, the people who have amazed me with your knowledge of this fine vehicle; which is the right Camaro for me? I know some of you may not feel I am worthy of this car simply because I want to buy it only because I love the way it looks, and I respect your opinion, but please don't flame me. Help me. Which Camaro do I buy?

I would recommend the 2LT for you. The 2LT and 2SS come with the "creature comforts" you described such as leather, HUD, etc., and since you mentioned using it as your daily driver, I would think you would want the better fuel economy provided by the V6.

I would buy the v6 lt model. Great price, great mileage, same good looks. Then add appearance mods to your taste, like ground effects, ect.

2ss rs I daily drive and its awesome! Mileage averages 18ish a tank. 16000 mile and tires still look new. The 6.2 is amazing.

What about the RS package and the bigger tires? I don't like what I am reading about having to change them out frequently and avoiding bad road conditions. Am I better off going with the 19" all season? Also, I am VERY conflicted about the V6 vs V8 argument.

Why don't you go test drive both? That's the best way to settle the v6 vs v8 argument. Especially since you haven't bought one yet. If you love the v8, go with the v8. If you feel the v8 is nice but don't need it, go with the v6.

The pirelli tires that come on the SS models and RS models are not very good at all once the temperature dips below 40 degrees I believe. They are summer tires. If you don't want to deal with buying a winter set of tires, which can be had for cheap, I would recommend the 19" all seasons for sure.

Exactly, the ss is more expensive to drive and maintain. Rs on the SS is mostly just headlights but they make the car look more finished.

I'd go 2LT with an RS package and automatic transmission for a daily driver.

I'd vote for the 2LT/RS auto. If you want a sunroof drive one w/ and w/o - figure out if you don't mind the reduction in the headliner height.

Welcome to the forum!
