If this is correct, to get the Z06 with Z07 package would be roughly $89995 + TTL + ADM

Still a good price.

Still a bargain to me and a much nicer car than the Z/28 for really not much more in cost. You also get much more too.

Having spent quite a bit of time in one of the new stingrays I do have to say I like my Z/28 better. If your over 6 feet tall you just don't fit in a stingray, much less on the track with a helmet on. I have a hard enough time in my Z/28.

That being said though the Z06 is a bargain when you compare it to the Ferrari's of the world, the car will be insane and will no doubt but some awesome track times down.

You need to get out more. I've seen more Z/28s than you have ZL1s. Though I will say about 50% of the Camaros I see are V6 and many of those rentals. About 40% are SS and 10% are ZL1s. I've seen 3 Z/28s in the wild now. A White, a Black, and a Red.

Well, since I live in Philadelphia, I probably see more cars than 99% of this website. Most cars on the road are new or new-ish. Camaros, Camaros everywhere. Next to none are ZL1's and I've never seen a Z28. Doing an Autotrader search for ZL1's in a 100 mile radius of Philadelphia yields:

32 results

You are either purposely seeking out Camaro-centric events or wildly exaggerating. They are very few and far between. If I want to buy a black ZL1 coupe with a manual transmission, new OR used, ANY year, I have 9 total options in a 200 mile radius.

Using your own argument against you then, Camaros are every where, you even said it yourself.

So you see C7's everday...how many C7 Z06s you think you will see? Unless you were only talking about C7 corvettes in general

Well...if you check the Nurburgring Lap Records http://nurburgringlaptimes.com/lap-times-top-100/

You'll find a number of GT3s far below the Z28's times and the only GT3 that has a better lap time is the GT3 RS. If you watch the Camaro lapping the "Ring", you will easily see many places where traction was limited because of rain. I believe, the GT3 RS lap time would have been in trouble had the Chevy run on a dry course. Wouldn't you agree? So, that's one place, but the Z28 hasn't been out long enough to establish a record of wins and losses.

I am certain the Lightning Lap and Laguna Seca courses will show how these cars compete. I'm absolutely certain a win or a loss will be widely publicized especially on this forum. Be patient.

I have to add that anytime an American car of any sort gets within .53 seconds of a $150k Porsche, that's a win for the Chevy, and also, the Camaro isn't Chevy's fastest road course car.

I see more C7s than ZL1s, no Z/28s yet. But I generally see more Camaros than Corvettes. While the Z/28 warms up the track, the C7 Z06 will be lighting it on fire.

I can roll with that.

That is the major difference between that never ending dilemma Camaro versus Corvette, to me being able to track my car on Sunday and dropping off kids to school Monday is a win.

This thread is stupid.

The biggest problem the Z06 has is it's a Corvette. A Corvette is one of the least practical mass-produced cars on the road. They are impossible to have as your only car because they suck at anything other than driving two people around. There is no utility in them at all, so your $79,000+ purchase must be an additional purchase on top of your practical car you can actually live your life with. A badass car no doubt, but all these comparisons to a Camaro is laughable because they are designed for two completely different purposes. You can live your life out of a Camaro and drive your family around in a Camaro. The 5th Gen is one of the most utilitarian muscle cars ever made - comparatively huge, comfortable back seats, a shockingly usable trunk and it's great in all weather with appropriate tires. Yes, a Corvette will be better at raw speed and performance because GM specifically designs their cars so nothing can outperform a Corvette stock-for-stock. For pretty much anything else, a Camaro is better at. The Z06 is a great value, yes. It is probably the best value in the "near super car" class ever made. But a Camaro is one of the best all around affordable vehicles ever made - be it the V6 or the V8.

Comparing a Z06 to the Z/28 is laughable as well. The idea behind the Z/28 is that it is a stripped down, mechanical beast. You need to be able to drive very well to handle a Z/28. The Z06 is a digital, technological vehicle designed to take a lot of the skill out of driving. It's made to compete with the likes of a GT-R - things are becoming so easy anyone can drive them. It looks like GM even ripped off some of Nissan's design cues. The new Z06 is some kind of Corvette/GT-R hybrid in the looks department. Electronic nanny systems, paddle shifters, launch control, park assist and God only knows what else, comparing a Z/28 to the Z06, one is a rare driver's car and one of an impressively affordable piece of technology designed to help an incompetent oaf look like a superstar.
lol...funny & true!
