1LE Suspension Package ?
Hi guys been awhile since I've been on. Anyhoo had a question. I was reading an article in motor trend when they were testing the Maro to the dreaded stang, and the Maro they tested had the 1le suspension package. They were driving a 2SS. I was wondering do they put the 1LE suspension package stock on 2SS Maros? Or do you just have to order it. I'm at the dealership now getting my first oil change (4500miles) and was just looking through the accessories reference guide and saw it in there and I'm just curious. Thanks for any help. Also I'm excited they went with Dexos oil saves on the pocket. Thanks guys.

I'mm assuming a "Maro" is a Camaro...
The 1LE is a package that can be ordered with either one of the SS models. It's also not just a suspension package. You also get the ZL-1 wheels, and 3.91 gears. |

It's an option you can get from the factory, but you can order it for yours through the dealer.

You can get the 1LE Suspension package from your dealer, but the 1LE package you can order when you buy your car somes with alot more than just the suspension.
Wheels/Tires, 3.91 rear gears, ZL1 hubs, Upgraded axles, ZL1 Fuel Pump, Different trans gearing 1-4 (same as Z/28), ZL1 Steering Wheel and Shifter and more. |

not sure if I understood... but in order to get a registered "official 1LE" you must buy it a SS 1LE , but if you want to upgrade your base V8, GM performance also sell the 1LE performance suspension kit for base SS an V6's, also you can get parts from ZL1 like the blower and brakes, some of these parts can void your warranty depending on the dealer, hope my answer helps you =)

Thanks guys. Yes I just nickname the Camaro. No big deal. Anyways the package from Chevy says, 1LE Suspension Package for V8 Coupe Models $1500 5.00 install. Contents include front and rear stabilizer bar, ZL1 wheel bearings, toe links, and rear shock mounts for improved on-track performance. I didn't see anything about the wheels. But maybe that's what you get when you order the car before purchase. Anyways thanks.

You would think that if GM sells the parts, you buy them from your chevy dealer and have your chevy dealer install them to GM standards, your warranty should stay intact. Yeah I have heard rumors of some dealers doing the work and still honoring the warranty. But what happens when your out 3 states away and need work and have to use another dealer to get it fixed and they say, "oh look at that, you have done something to void your warranty so I am going to need all your credit cards and your first born to pay for this work!!" |

[QUOTE=MrFrost;7410395]And I am assuming that just changing the gears alone will void your warranty?

Didn't know that. Have to check that out.. Always hearing cant do this or that or you lose the warranty. My wife is always freaking out when I am looking at some future mods. Still have a long time left on the warranty and she thinks as soon as I change something, the engine will explode the next day, and I will have to pay out of pocket.
