"Displacement, number of cylinders, all of these things you need to think about."

Yup. Because you don't need a 6.2L V8 to make 426 bhp. A smaller, turbocharged V8 with better tech than pushrod might be something to consider. If GM could make a 2.0 that put out 145 hp per liter, then logic dictates if a displacement issue exists, they can use proven tech to address that

Because that would probably weigh as much as the LS3 does now, if not more.

I always thought it was weird, 80 hp/l has been the norm in smaller performance engines for the last little while, but the number for big v8's is much lower, i guess there is no need for them to do so yet, the LFX is 90hp/L compared to the ls3 which is 68hp/l

a few other notable ones
civic SI 83.75 hp/l
evo X 145.5 hp/l
mustang boss 302 88.8 hp/l

So gm has the technology, even the regular grade fuel LFX beats out the mustang's best n/a engine. If we could use that tech in a big v8 we could have a 558hp n/a 6.2, or if we dropped it down 11% to 80hp/l, it would be a 496hp 6.2. But there just is no need for it, there is no market that expects those numbers from a n/a v8. If the new technologies are implemented in larger engines it wont be to make crazy high hp numbers it will be to make engines smaller with similar power outputs, for example the new LT1 being replaced with an engine making similar power but similar displacement to ford's 5.0

I agree I want a Nice interior as well however when you say no cheap plastic and the next guy wants this and the next guy wants this keep in mind add less weight a certain engine and all of the monitors/technology and you have already entered $40K + range
Gm im sure wants to give us what we want but they also have to keep it affordable in the market of the mustang

Folks are forgetting metal adds weight as well.

I'm sure if we say no HUD and no monitor for navigation then we can save a few $$$$ and get nicer material.

Gm wont put a Camaro in Corvette price range.

Whatever they do I guarantee some will love it and some will hate it and or here's will not pick it to death. Same thing that has happened to the 5th gen.

totally agree w/ the 2015 Ford sales takeover...if not a C7, then a 2015 Mustang may be in the horizon. C'mon Chevy, better sway my vote.

...Hobbs, you and I both know that is not true....I mean about the Mustang purchase..
Honestly, it should be a development of the 5th gen but smaller and lighter. I don't think we will see much of a HP bump. I unless GM puts out a few more V8s, I don't see how they will have a SS and Z/28.
...., it will be smaller and lighter as written, the standard V8 for the next gen Camaro is the LT1 450 HP 450 ftlb tq, impressive, with a new chassis architecture and weight reduction.

...looking at the forward thinking of the Corvette engineers and design team, my thoughts are that they are culminating a forward thinking design competition, as Mr. Welburn has the vision to propel GM with it's design Institute to do so.

I think you are the first person I've heard say that, but everyone has their own tastes.

I obviously don't share that view, as I have owned so many of them, I have lost count.
