If you are worried about the price, wait a couple years and snag a low mileage one for 40k.
You already have an ss which is a very very fast car. The ZL1 is STUPID CRAZY IM GONNA DIE FAST.

I would agree that the 2SS is very fast on the road, but I have also been told the ZL1 drives like a different car....

The ZL1 may be a camaro, but the reality is that it is a completely different driving experience. The only problem is that once you have a ZL1, the SS will no longer interest you.

Seems like it's in a free fall right now. Just not used to that. My Toyota FJ depreciated 2,000 in 5 years lol. |

I'd never buy a new one. Talk about throwing away 20k dollars. This car will depreciat like a rocket. Buy a used one with 10k miles in a year, trust me, you will save 15k.

I looked at a white 17 A10 ZL1 with 8k miles. It was a CPO and they were asking 62k. I bought my CPO 16 1SS with 900 miles last week for 8k less then the window sticker. There are plenty of folks buying brand new and turning around and trading or selling them with very low miles. So yeah I would never buy brand new. Save yourself some money and get a CPO...you still get a 12 month bumper to bumper and remaining factory warranty.

ZL1 pros:
- eLSD - Available 10-speed auto (optional) - Performance Traction Management - Improved Launch Control - Electronic Line Lock - Performance Data Recorder (optional) - Wider fenders = bigger front tires - Stiffer sway bars, MRC already tuned for it - 650/650 instead of 455/455 ZL1 cons: - Higher operating cost (e.g. 20 mpg instead of 33mpg for 2SS) - Higher purchase price (e.g. 65k vs 45k for 2SS) - Higher maintenance cost (e.g. 2200$ for set of OE tires installed vs 1500$ for SS) - Almost nothing left to do to the car for 90% of buyers - Adding 150-200hp costs way more than you're ready for if you're debating the price or payment of the car already |

I ordered my ZL1 back in January, got it in April and was worth the wait...It is such a great car in every way. Only negative i have is it doesn't do to well in a heavy down pour here in Tampa. Normal rain not an issue but when roads get a lot of standing water it doesn't do as good as my 2012 Camaro. Other than that i love everything about it. Sure i wish GM would have used a larger 2.3 or 2.9L supercharger and less TQ Management, but i wouldn't hesitate getting another one.
