What speakers to buy for non-Bose systems?
If you wan to use the factory radio and only change out the speakers, what speakers do you buy? Anyone knows the power rating of the stock non Bose radio?

Don't waste your money on the rear panels unless you swap the amp; their bandwidth limited (and volume), so...

No, just the front tweeters, doors and rear sides.
I guess low powered speakers, 2-50 RSM and over 90 sensitivity is the way to go. I just need sizes for the doors and rear sides |

Doors are 6x9.
Rear ride panels, on my LT, are 6.5" Again, those in the rear side panels are a waste with stock amp. Tweeter are 2.5"... |

Do a search for it. Like most things, its here. The A-pillar covers pull off, but not far as they're tethered to the A-pillar itself. Then there a 7mm nut. The dash cover then pulls off. Do search, can't remember if the right side has 1 or 2 nuts; do be careful with the wiring for the light sensor.
Its easy, I've had mine off; Took about 5 minutes. |

Just replace the door speakers with the best you can buy with 90+ db. It will make a world of difference.

Go with a brand you know or a recommendation from this forum. Car speaker sensitivity measurements are almost worthless. They are almost always reported as something like 1 W at 1 meter, 1000 Hz. If you are buying a 6x9 coaxial speaker for bass reproduction and the ads scream 92 dB sensitivity that noise is all coming from the tweeter part of the coaxial, and the rating tells you nothing about bass frequency reproduction.

Stock radios have low power, so I would say lower RMS and higher sensitivity would be a better fit

Pioneer makes some incredible speakers, especially their 6x9's, look for their 4 way speakers, reasonably priced as well.

Depending on how skilled you are/how much work you want to do. Coaxial speakers in the door for easy upgrade. Or component in the dash. The factory tweeter is filtered at the tweeters so you can put a crossover in the trunk to make it easy. If you put the crossover in the front I'd do alpine because their crossover is small.

I am thinking to put these on: Infinity Reference REF-275tx in dash tweeters and Polk Audio DB691 6-by-9-Inch 3-Way Speakers in the doors. ? |

Never ever ever buy speakers that you've never listened to.
Go to your local shop and have them play you a bunch of them on the wall that they recommend for low wattage. Bring your own music and just play ONE SONG you know by heart. I use Hotel California live version.
