What kind of cost are we talking for something like this? Might try the same thing in the future, but can't imagine another 100HP. Haven't used all I have now with still being in the break in period.

My SS just put down 669/635 and I've been 10.37@133 and had a pass a couple weeks ago over 136. Wore my old hoosiers out and have a new set for this weekend and hope to break into the 10.20's if the air is good. You should break into the 10's for sure with those numbers so good luck.

Mine isn't a ZL1 but 6th gear is worth 25rw on the dyno over 5th gear. It will make more power in the 1:1 gear.

thats amazing, thanks brotha! im fully expecting a 10.70 pass at 130+ once the weather cools down. im going to get a set of hoosiers as well and try to see if i can click off a few quick passes.

its part of the options when choosing the system you want. you can either go half way back, or all the way back to the stock can.

yes it will. but the A8 and A10 gearing is a lot different. 180 mph on the dyno just isn't safe so i elected for 6th gear instead of 7th.

What brand dyno?

And yes 7th is 1:1. My car read lower in 6th gear vs 7th FWIW. The pull just takes soooooo long in 7th lol. IAT surely soar. I think the pull was to over 180mph lmao

Mustang dyno, yes between the IAT's and the 180 mph run, im totally fine with 6th gear for now lol

I remember reading this somewhere but I can't seem to find it anywhere. The topic of the efficiency of the blower came up somewhere and the fact that the Hellcat blower takes about 80 horsepower just to run. Then somebody mentioned the LT4 blower uses about 140 horsepower to run. So switching to a more efficient blower that uses less power to run, will result in more power to the wheels at the same boost level? Let's say you swapped blowers on your car and kept the same boost level, would that combat the heat soak as well as bump the power to like, 700 rwhp or so?

I was just trying to compliment your numbers and assure you there is more in it. I agree it isn't the best practice to spin the dyno to 180 plus for tuning. I do all my tuning in 5th and then do one 6th gear pull to get comparable internet numbers. DJ's are set up to run 200mph. Not sure about MD's. Tires are the issue at that mph though.

Mustangs can be calibrated to compute from mph in excess of 200mph....ask me how I know :p. You have to change some of the coding. I think they default to 199max out of the box.

My car made like 512whp in 6th, and 549whp in 7th, same day 30 min cool down between runs. Mustang load dyno.

Here is a 230mph pull in my old half mile Camaro. Medium boost lmao

I noticed that my 5th gear DJ time from 2,500-6,500 is the same as my 3rd gear street tuning. So if you plan on running the car on the street in 4th or 5th I suggest grinding out a pull on the dyno to replicate the length of time it will be in those gears on the street. That will let you know what the fuel is really doing and IAT's for you blower guys. But a MD is a much better tuning tool.
