Give serious consideration to buying from your local Chevy dealer. It will cost more, BUT if you need it, there is WARRANTY.

Here is an example of an alternator https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/oem-pa...aGV2cm9sZXQ%3D $182 vs $338 msrp. If it were even halfway in between, but almost double? I tend to order online; oh and the counter guy is very rude when you hesitate or ask about their full msrp's. |

Blown shock
My right rear shock on my 2013 blew at 26,500 miles last week. I actually heard it "pop". From that point on the whole car rode like a bucking board. I purchased the car from a Chevy dealership earlier this year as a "CPO" car. Took it in and luckily it was covered. Rides and handles as normal now.

Add me to the blown rear strut/shock club, I have almost 60K, but I think they have been blown for awhile. I was switching over to my winter tires and saw the telltale wetness on both. I have already replaced the front passenger side this spring , so I will just bite the bullet and get the driver's side front as well so all four are relatively new.

I was wondering why, when a conventional shock fails the ride gets bouncy since the shock no longer damps the spring. Why does a mag shock get stiffer than hell when it fails.

Just ordered new back struts at Rock Auto $ 390.00 a piece.
77000 miles and it's the first time btw, luckily. Chevy dealer quoted me $ 800.00 a piece. |

Much of the difference is in warranty. Your local chevy dealer will warranty them for a year from purchase.

((((BLUE LIGHT SPECIAL)))))
I just found the AC Delco rear struts on Amazon for $237.50 each, $475 for the pair. I think they had 10 in stock. That is the best price I have ever seen for these. Get em while they are hot. |
