What is on the right front side of the car that gives it that much extra weight?

I noticed that as well.. I see on mine, on pass side there's multiple fluid reservoirs, relay/fuse housing, the main power lead from rear battery, what looks like a computer of some sort (didn't look to see which one) and an accessory under the hoses with a giant pulley (waterpump?).. Those could all add up to the difference easily.

Hard to say really. With a driver, that weight balance is likely much more evenly distributed. The corner balance is nearly perfect the way the car sits though so I don't think that there is much to be unhappy about.....

Guess that could also be the point they were going for.. Offset the right front by some to compensate for the fact there will always be a pilot in it when it's moving.

I'm perfectly happy with the weight myself.. It's heavier than the GS I just came out of, but much better in overall terms and it makes my 5th gen feel like a dinosaur.

Agreed! I came out of a 14 1LE not long ago and I LOVED that cars performance and handling. This car is better in every single way.

I'm definitely not unhappy with this car. More blown away than anything. More so than I was with any recent car release that I can recall. The balance is also the reason why I want a 1LE over a ZL1 with the supercharged LT4.

Team Camaro, ya done good. Real good

Agreed!! I have just over 500 miles on the car so far. It's still early but I can say that I am truly taken back by just how much I love this car. Even my wife likes it and that is hard to achieve. She drives it every chance she gets.

I about swallowed my tongue when I read about the 10 speed auto in the ZL1. I know there will be alot of people that don't think it wise but having owned the 8 speed now i'd say that it can definitely be done right and I'm confident GM will get it right.

All the best,

Jared Royce

Sounds about right. Little light but they only ship them with like 2 gallons of fuel, I think....

I asked this in the wheels/tires section but I don't think anybody sees that section. How much do the wheels weigh on this car and do the split spoke wheels weigh more than the regular 5 spoke wheels?

My 2016 2SS, manual, non-mrc weighs 3,668 with a full tank of gas.

it came with 49.5% corner balance, stock. we corner balanced it, and now it's 49.9%.

done on longacre scales by a reputable shop.

edit - whoops - pics show corner balance weight prior to balancing ;-)

2SS
6 speed
NPP
MRC
5 spoke OE wheels and tires
no sunroof
full tank of fuel (3 miles from fill up, the car only had 6 miles on it total)

LF = 987 lbs
RF = 1021 lbs
LR = 853 lbs
RR = 874 lbs
Total = 3735 lbs

I used the Rebco 1Weight scales we have at work. They are calibrated yearly and very accurate (~$1100 scales, should be!).
This is great, thanks! Any idea what the NPP and MRC equipment weighs? I'm trying to get my 2SS M6 6th gen down to 3400lbs and I personally think it's doable...

So far I got catback with Helmholtz resonators, no mufflers. Rotary forged squared setup of 19x10.5 Stance SF03 @ 23.5-24lbs a wheel, no idea on the tires... in terms of weight reduction.

I wanna replace seats for some Carbon Fiber bucket seats and magnesium seat rails if I can.. forged aluminum at the least.
