^ Good advice. I put Infiniti speakers in my Dodge Intrepid as the OEM's blew. I wasn't impressed with, but they were "better" than the stock ones. They were cheap though.

As a matter of interest who makes the speakers (non Bose)? Also who makes the AMP for the Bose system? Whilst on the subject who makes most of Chevy's non Bose Speakers in the other vehicles ie: my 2016 Malibu.?

Bump for any more input on good choices to replace front door and dash speakers. Been looking on Crutchfield as well. I'm sure you don't have to spend big bucks to improve these standard GM speakers. Hope to go buy a large local shop in the next couple of weeks.

Infinity are a good choice because they are 2ohm and work with the factory amp. If you install 4 ohm speakers on the factory amp you will cut power delivery in half.

I don't think the door speakers need replaced. All that is needed is a set of infinity 2ohm dome tweets to replace factory dash speakers and add a set of full range 6x9 to the rear deck with a amp to help take some load off the door speakers and balance the sound. If you use the 2SS in crutch fields vehicle selector they will include the correct brackets for the rear deck.

I will be installing the following next week.

Infinity Kappa 6x9 +1 3 ways with supplied metra brackets for rear deck.
Rockford punch 300 amp.(Has speaker level input capability)
Sub thump install harness with Kicker speaker line to RCA adapter.

Going to wait on installing the Infinity tweets in dash and see how it sounds first.

Sounds like a good plan. Looking forward to feedback

Is the nonbose 1LT a 2 ohm system or a 4 ohm system? because on crutch field when i put in a nonbose it doesn't pop up a message saying "youre using a 4 ohm speaker the factory speaker impedance is 2 ohm" but i gave it a test and switched my car from nonbose to bose on crutchfield and i get the message saying your factory system is 2 ohm using a 4 ohm speaker will result in lower volume. Thats why I'm a little confused because i know the nonbose still has a amp but is the speakers 4 ohm?

I do know the sail panel speakers say 4ohm for the 1SS non bose. I have not pulled the front and looked at them. They could be 2ohm. GM is known for using different impedence speakers. I would probably grab the Infinity reference 3ohm speakers. Those were what I was going to use if I replace the fronts.

I am going to start a thread of my 6x9 install in the rear deck for a non bose setup. I just got them hooked up last night and it sounds great.

I plan on doing a speaker swap and amp install this weekend. Went with JL Audio C2 690TX (6x9s) for the front and JL Audio C2650X (6.5") for the rear sides. I already have a dual sub enclosure with 2 JL Audio 12W0V3-4s in it powered by a JL Audio 300W mono block amp. I'll be removing the stock amp, adding an LC7i LOC, and adding a JL Audio JX400/4D 4 channel amp for the front and rear side speakers.
