Suspension and Tire Recommendations?
I am in the process of looking at suspensions systems for my 2015 Camaro SS. was mainly looking at Eibach, but does anyone have any other recommendations. Looking for a 1" to 1.25" drop.
In addition to the springs, I also wanted to get new shocks (naturally) and was considering just bundling the Eibach Dampers with the springs. Also am looking for tire recommendations. I haven't picked rims out yet, looking for a more specific cost reference though. Looking for any recommendations or insight? |

If you look at this sub forum...its all about recommendations-I would take a few minutes to scroll through it. Everything you want to know, and more, is answered.

The biggest question you will have to ask yourself is "what do you want your car to be able to do?" Because that will tell us what we need to know to make suggestions.
Recommendations for a year-round daily driver are obviously significantly different than a drag-strip only build or a SEMA show-only car. If you're looking at just some minor/simple upgrades to a semi-daily driver that can see some periodic "spirited driving", you would only really need to look at springs and sway bars. For overall ride quality with a 1" drop, I've heard the Hotchkiss are the top choices. From personal experience, my SS shocks with some ZL1 springs work really well paired up with some Pfadt sport sway bars. For tires, the question is really important because the tires I recommend for my use (year round daily driver + some snow = Continental Extreme Contact DWS) I would not take to the track. I really don't have any experience with other tires besides the stock Pirellis which I think suck for my situation. You can only go up from there depending on your goals, dreams, and expectations...

Thanks for the recommendations. Yes, this is my daily driver and do not care for the track. As you said, looking for improvement on handling for "spirited driving." I will check into Hotchkiss, I haven only been looking at Eibach as the prices seemed reasonable.

Agreed. Do some more research. Sways will give the biggest handling improvement. Your shock/struts are pretty good factory products.....I wouldn't mess with them. Lowering springs will really harsh your ride....so be prepared. Good luck.

I added Eibach sways first and the BMR 1" springs. I was worried about the springs and the ride.
I love it so much more now. Ride is much, MUCH better.

Any reason to go with BMR over Eibach? or just price? I guess they are just springs, not sure how the quality would differ?

FWIW - their 1" drop springs are perfect; exactly 1".

Zl1 rear sway bar #22786260 and leave your stock front sway. I installed 1" hotchkis springs and I'm happy with them, wouldn't want it any lower. 20x10 front and 20x11 rear wheels are popular on these cars. 285 35 20 pss are very popular tires also.

Have you looked at coil overs as an option?

I have the BMR 1.2" drop springs and they are the perfect amount of drop without sacrificing clearance. No sagging either and an equal drop on all four corners.
