From your arrow tips I get 391mm. It’s another 19mm to the end of the downslope part.

Well, I might be a compulsive liar born in Europe---one of these two statements is true

Julian, hope you don't mind our little offtopic banter, but you already got your answer(s) after all

This is almost like those oil thread and catch can debates, frankly

What people don't realize is that the metric system is just as arbitrary, its only saving grace is that multiplications and divisions are simpler on account of the power of 10 arrangement (but not in all scenarios, because a power of 2 setup makes halving and doubling sizes much easier, for example).

The Celsius scale is another good example, it's absolutely random just like the Fahrenheit and Reaumur scales, don't come at me with how logical the choice of the boiling and freezing points of water are for 100 and 0, respectively, when those depend entirely on atmospheric pressure, so they aren't even constants. Also, the Fahrenheit scale has double the inherent precision (resolution) of the Celsius scale, which apparently nobody wants to acknowledge. The only scientific temperature scale is that of Lord Kelvin, but nobody wants to use that because "honey, today's really chilly at 271.5 degrees" doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, does it.

The whole thing is like the esperanto language, perfectly synthesized to be logical with few grammar rules and no exceptions, except that one never took off, maybe because it's so ugly nobody wants to claim it (but jokes aside, it's a language, the concept of which much deeper entrenched in people's intellect than a system of measurement, so again nobody wants to trade their real mother tongue for that, however "reasonable" and "logical" the choice might seem).

(I'm from Europe originally btw and grew up with the metric system, just saying.)

If the first half is true, then you aren't a liar. But if it's false, then you are? So, it's actually true? Which makes it false?

Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!
