Question, why you need such giant brakes if you're running 22" wheels? The huge wheels/unsprung weight will seriously hurt the braking performance and unless you're tracking the car bigger brakes won't help with anything, and I hope you're not tracking it with 22s! That's a recipe for cracking a really nice wheel!

Bigger brakes = increased braking ability regardless of wheel size. The Camaro has an estimated braking review (according to Car and Driver) of 70-0 in 158ft compared to the SRT8 70-0 in 166ft. However the SRT8 weighs roughly 1,300lbs more. It is very save to conclude that the SRT8 Brembo will therefor stop my car in a noticeably less distance. I'm not sure why you need to be involved in tracking to want increased braking ability...

Very cool, looking to try and use my dads take off Zo6 brakes but will probably need special brackets of some kind.

nice job!!!

and I agree, makes no sense to only want bigger brakes for the track??? increased stopping power is great when the moron in front of you slams on his brakes for no reason!!!

Thank you! Can't say I've heard of anyone using Z06 calipers so there might be some customizations needed but at least you won't run across someone else with the same

Thank you! Yeah that's how I thought of it. I know my 4-piston Brembos saved me from more than one idiot who couldn't drive and I know the 6-piston will offer even more protection.

very beautiful and 'clean' lines on the car. Those giant brakes look awesome on it. Great job!

Nice work. Now the rears look so small.

Thank you! Right! I've been laughing at how small the rear brakes look now. They are the 4-piston rears that come stock on the SS but man they look small now. Gonna take some measurements and see if I can get the 4-piston fronts to fit in the rear.

Good luck with the rears. I did a drum to disc rear conversion using C5 parts and front C6 caliper/C6 Z06 rotor conversion on a 1995 Caprice Wagon. That is easier when someone else has put a kit together after doing the work.

Nice looking work there!

A word of caution. Adding too much front braking torque can reduce the car's ability to maximize the traction from all four tires. The f/r braking bias from the factory probably doesn't make the best use of your new fronts.

I love the Caprice Wagons. My sister has a regular '96 Caprice, great cars. From what I've heard the wagon drum to disc is slightly more difficult, especially using new style brakes. Was there a kit available for that? We converted the stock brakes on my sister's '96 Impala to SS Brembos, but that was fairly easy.
