New Headers for the weekend! - NOT!!!
Stainless Power Headers were delivered today (Friday)
Almost everything went great! Except I was unable to remove the drivers side O2 Sensor... PB blaster / torch..... eventually twisted it off. Dang Passenger side came out but the threads are messed up to the point I don't want to risk messing up the threads on the headers putting it back in... Oh well right... Off to the parts store... Wrong! Nothing in stock... It is Friday decided to use Amazon Prime... and save $90 Nothing like new headers installed but the car is up on jack stands, waiting to see if re-using the factory gaskets have a leak... If so, At least another two days

Did you let the PB soak over night?

My 1le only had 1800 miles when I installed my headers, and I still almost ruined one O2 sensor taking it off. Used mouse milk and torch and still almost killed one. Had to clean up the threads once removed with a jewelers file.
I can only imagine what they are like on cars several years old with tens of thousands of miles on them.

Mine were really bad, one stripped out but I was able to clean it up. I made sure to order everything TSP reccomended, gaskets and 02 extenders.
My install went smooth, but make sure you pull the plugs! The break very easy and when they break they cause random misfires and drivability issues . |
