Its certainly tough to get a V6 to sound good, usually the only ones I care for are only slightly louder than stock, is that what you are going for?

Have no clue what you are doing to turn the custom shops away. Perhaps you should go to a race shop, a real one that works on cars that aren't street legal, explain your dillemma and maybe they will refer you to a fabricator to suit your needs. Most muffler shops don't want to do anything custom on a newer car.

Sometimes I understand the mechanics frustration with any of these newer cars. People around here treat them as gods gift to earth and if there is something wrong with the cooling system after an exhaust was put on.. it must be the muffler shops fault!
I do all my work myself so im the only one to blame
Makes it easy.

I'm doing rear muffler delete with full cat delete then adding a resonator x-pipe with 3 inch piping all the way to the back with 4 inch quad tips with J-pipes. This guy has that whole set up just without the J-pipes. Here is the videos of his start up and him flooring it: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=288401

So what are you wanting the custom muffler shop to do?

The most they could legally do is install your cat back and maybe fab the J-pipes and weld them on.

It may cost more but try a local custom hot rod performance shop. They have experience in fabricating and installing all kinds of exhaust systems in all types of configurations, and have experience in welding everything. My mechanic is one of those shops and did a great job installing my headers and exhaust. He also figured out a way to install and hide my j-pipes, contrary to the manufacturer's recommended locations, and I couldn't be happier.

don't mean anything by this, but how old are you? I only ask because you said you brought your mom. a lot of times shops don't like to install loud exhaust systems for young people because 2 days later the parents show back up with the kid mad as hell that they installed it because every neighbor in their high end gated community is complaining to the HOA about the noise.

The exhaust I want isn't that loud, it's not ricer, and my neighbor has a ricer out Honda, it's not a bad, raspy, obnoxious exhaust.

I wasn't saying yours would be, I was just saying that some exhaust places I know wont do work for younger people because they end up with mom and dad bringing the car back because of complaints. if your young, that could very well be the case.
