You do know numbers play into this... 2010 more SS's were sold than Non-SS. So that is a possible reason you see a few more SS's. Also economy, some people dont understand the concept of purchasing what one can afford. So buying the SS at the time was probably more then the ower could afford. Lose job trade in car, sad but true. I am thinking in the future you will see more v6's as the amount sold has increased.

Oh yeah to add they clarified the car actually came back bc the guy couldnt afford it with this and a silverado after his wife lost her job and was forced to bring it back rather than repo, so the mileage made more sense after hearing word.

When I traded in my V6 (1LT) I watched the dealerships site and it sold in less than a week.

I believe you see the availability of all these used SS's on dealer lots, because their owners trade them in for V6's. They're too embarrassed to admit it, so they don't post what they did on enthusiast web sites.

I would think some of them are waiting on the ZL1's to come out and sold their SS, while many just didn't like the SS in the first place or got rid of it due to financial hardship.

That and many people bought one when it came out because it was so popular, and once the next big/cool thing came out they moved on to that.

I bought my V6 in August 2011, and it had been sitting there since Feb 2011. Fully loaded 2010 2LT with 16K miles that I got for 20,500. It is a manual with no sunroof and has white factory hockey stripes, all of which I think played into the low price and amount of time it sat. The dealer said most people in there bought them with autos and sunroof.

I think I got a pretty good deal. Anyone care to weigh in?

Chevy dealership in town here has probably 7 v6s with the RS package and absolutely ZERO SS cars. I've only ever seen them have 1 SS and it lasted probably a month, only because it was priced way too high.

I think some of it may be the package the dealer puts on it too. There has been a brand new 2011 setting at a Chevy dealership near me for many months now. It is a 2SS 6M SIM with black hood and trunk stripes. It also has some dealer installed 21" black and silver rims with the bigger spoiler and heritage grill. This car would be a great buy for someone since I'm sure they would want to move it.

Maybe they sold it for a civic? I don't know how you can trade down after owning the SS though.

Searched Cars.com, 50 miles within my zip code. There are 186 used 2010-2012 Camaros for sale.

100 V8's, 86 V6's. Almost exactly the same ratio of new V8's vs V6's sold over the same time period.
