I have close to 6,xxx miles on my 2LT manual so it's more than broke in. It always felt a bit notchy when shifting from 2nd to 3rd; better on warmer days. I also had the dealer do the routine oil change at 5,xxx and doesn't feel any different.

Should they be oiling or greasing the shift linkage as part of maintenance?

Hey Cam#7 - it is a widely known complaint. I replaced my tranny oil with Redline and it did help - but there still remains an issue.

Yea just to echo, this issue is across the board for the 6 speed camaros

i had my trans rebuilt and all is good

They must of fixed some mechanical issue, I'm sure you didn't wear your tranny out. What did they have to say about the rebuild?

My V6 M6 is crappy, too. Worst feeling manual I've ever had. ALWAYS high effort and clunky into 2nd, often into 3rd, too. The shifts all feel better under hard acceleration than under light, though. But the trans just sucks.

EDIT: I should say that I have 21,000 miles on my car after 19 months.

I too have this problem. Shifting from 1st to 2nd is jerky and so is 2nd to 3rd. 2st to 2nd is worse. It's really annoying and makes me mad each time. It shifts smoothly when I do it when I'm going slow and do it slow or when I'm accelerating quickly. But 75% of the time I'm somewhere in between and it's clunky. I hate it.

I thought about taking it in to have them look at it but it sounds like a common problem. Sounds like it's just the transmission and not an actual malfunction.

I've had 3 completely unwarranted grinds when shifting from 2-3. Other than that it works fine, driving slow, fast or anything in between.

hmmm shift linkage needing to be adjusted maybe? clutch not releasing fully tho pedal is to the floor?

maybe it is just a crappy shifter? (the hardware not the user)
