Removing powdercoat

So I want to powder coat my rims. Say in five years I want to remove the powder coat. Do you think it will ruin the polished rims? How do you think the rims would look after removing the coat?

Yes, powder coating will ruin the polished finish. If you want to return them back to polished in a few years, you will have to have the powder coating removed an then the wheels re-polished.

With that being said, powder coating bakes the finish into the metal. I'm not sure how much work it would take to re-polish them later. If it can be done I'm sure it would not be cheap.

They will bead blast them before powder coating anyways so the polished finish will already be done for.

Plastidip them and see if you like it. It can be removed with a pressure washer.
