could be testing out that new overhead cam motor in what looks like a base SS.

Who knows.
If they were just testing a new engine, I don't think it would need the extensive camo. And when sales are bad, it can push refreshes up a lot quicker. Look at the last gen Malibu, GM was very quick to refresh it. Mustang did the same thing, refresh in 10, another in 13 brand new model in 15.

I think this maybe the refresh due to sales.
If this is a refresh then we could possible expect a Z/28 with the refresh model. Just like the 2014 Z/28. History always repeats itself...

5th Gen 2010 - 2015
2010 - Base and SS
2011 - Base and SS (Coupe and Convertible)
2012 - Base, SS and ZL1
2013 - Base, SS and ZL1 (SS option 1LE)
2014 - Base, SS, 1LE, ZL1 and Z/28 (Refresh year)
2015 - Base, SS, 1LE, ZL1 and Z/28
2016 - 6th Gen

Interesting that this car has a blade spoiler, two layers of camo on the front fascia/hood and they were in a BFH to cover it.

No idea what it all means but seems rather extreme for a refresh, V6 camo car

Yeah this is definitely a 2.0T 1LE. As someone pointed out, those are 1LE rims, the brakes look like four pistons, and the spoiler is a 3 piece. The only other possibility is that they answered our prayers and gave the stock SS the 1LE style spoiler.

Well I noticed in the pictures right away that those were not Z/28 worthy brakes, so I immediately thought turbo 4 1LE. Then I scroll down to see that everyone else noticed it too. lol.

Admin needs to get the thread title and home page changed real quick lol.

So I'm 50/50 on whether this is a refresh, or turbo 4 1LE model. The wheels and 4 pot brakes say 1LE, but the over exaggerated amount of camo on the front and the hood say 2019 refresh. Honestly I wasn't expecting that until the 2020 model year, but then again, refreshes seem to move faster and faster these days, and if sales really are a concern for GM (nobody really knows for sure) then I'd say its very possible.

Option 3 could be some kind of mule for testing new "stuff", but not sure why they'd go with the crazy camo for that.

They really are just testing a car cover and camo. The car is incidental.

I'm going with an MCE for 2019 model year perhaps. Or its 2018? But it looks very MCE to me.
