L99 Falling On It's Face

Ok guys, I have been trying to figure this out and where it might be but I am stumped so far. I have a 2010 SS L99 and mods are:
CAI Cold Air Intake
American Racing shorty headers
Non-catted midpipes
Tune by JRE

Last night I tried to launch from a stop and it launched ok but around 40 miles per hour it started to Rev and almost seemed like no traction, but all of a sudden it would pick up again and hit the Rev limiter and shift but then fall on its face again. It feels like there is no traction but traction control was on and also it feels sloppy shifting from 2nd to 3rd almost really delayed and not firm. Wondering if anyone else has had this problem or what might be the issue that I can try to pinpoint.

+1. That might be your traction control kicking in. All it really does is bog your motor for a moment to stop the tires from spinning.

Does it flash on the dashboard when your traction control kicks on? I can't remember....I always turn it off

If I drive it like a normal person and don't race around and tap shift it will still feel a little sloppy shifting. When I did this last night it was in sport mode letting the computer shift. Even with competitive mode on it will still feel sloppy at times and almost fall on its face from a stand still.

i would say t/c it is really bad on the autos, along with torque management unless you have t/c off it is not as bad.

Press the option button twice and after the second time press for a third time quickly and hold it down for 8 seconds, this turns everything off and should fix your problem. Both trac and sport mode lights should be on when both are off

Have you talked to Ted? That is the first person I would consult before I asked here.

Hello Tony, I am always available to answer your questions via email or phone, and happy to do so.

Before testing or logging I always suggest to Push and Hold, the Traction control button down for 8 seconds.

This disables Traction control and stabiltrac so you have full access to your new found power.

The extra power will make the tires spin more easily and the Traction control and or the stabitrac will intervene and cut power to control wheel spin.

This also upsets the transmission shifting.

If your trans is sloppy from 2-3 I suggest a Transmission service where they will pull the pan and replace the filter and fluid.

Do not go to a jiffy lube and allow them recycle your fluid with a machine.

Feel free to contact me for more details.

Thank you for your business.

Ted.

I will try and see if competitive mode fixes anything.

I have also been wondering if the transmission is slipping!

Just to be clear it is not competitive mode I am suggesting.

It is total disable of traction and stabiltrac by push and hold the button for 8 seconds until both lights come on.

Ted.

Ted, there is a difference when placed in competitive mode. It does not big or hesitate and is mostly flawless with the exception of some tire spin which would be cured hopefully through some suspension upgrades. I had purposely not set competitive mode on to see what would happen and was surprised when it felt so hesitant and sluggish.

Here's what I do every time I start the car. My right hand automatically reaches over and presses the TC button once, which completely turns off traction control. People will go nuts and say this is crazy dangerous, but I think this mode is great. Stability control is still on, so if you start to get too squirelly, it'll kick in.

With practice, traction is easily controlled with your right foot, once you get a feel for how much you can push the throttle. Give it a shot, just be careful.
