Perhaps they're reading between nonexistent lines and thinking that maybe its a hint at a new Z/28?

Maybe. But there are some coincidences here. The 5th gen Z28 was announced 10 years ago as an end of year model. Here we are at the ends of the 6th gen model and a special car coming. I just feel like GM is hyping this up to much to be just a “sticker package” Lots of people say that it would cost GM too much money to put into a dying platform at this point. But what if they already did all of the research and investment early on. Wishful thinking? Maybe. But I like to see the glass as half full. 🤷*♂️

Came in quiet, road the wave quiet, goes out quiet.
I like the interaction when people find out that it is unique. They are like "how did I miss that", Welp you did.

There would've been leaks long ago, no manufacturer can simply pull a brand new trim or refresh out of their hats, and as it was reiterated several times on these forums, GM abandoned the Camaro in late 2018 and has kept it on cheap life support while it made sense. Them recertifying the car ($$$) due to substantial design changes, then cutting a short 2024 model year with naturally limited production is very, very, very unlikely.

I readily admit, I didn't read the 26 pages of this post. I just wanted to make a comment anyway, which is:
I'm sure GM was crying 'sales sales sales' defending axing this car. But the dropping sales numbers correspond to the 6th generation, and the 6th generation corresponds with the price going way up. Not only that but lease rates have been GOD AWFUL for years. My 2013 lease was an absolutely steal. The total cost of the lease was about 1/3 the total price of the car. Since then, including right now, a lease on one of these cars tens to cost about 2/3 the price of the car. That is a borderline scam. No wonder sales have gone down. They already have a high end sports car. Maybe they should have tried to keep the camaro's focus on people who wanted a simple, affordable, rear wheel drive fun car to drive. I'm sad but I'm not that sad. By the time I'm in the market for a sports car again, the 7th gen camaro will probably be back

All you have to do is look at the past to see the future-tape and badging Z4C on the 02, and that wasn't in the teeth of an electric religion race. FYI China and India are building on average two new coal plants per week, they ain't in the race,we are doing laps by ourselves.

Funny how the '23 Challenger is going out with a bang and the '24 Camaro is going out with a whisper!
