Do you know anyone or has any members on the forum ever sold a car on VROOM?

I have my Vert up for sale and just out of curiosity I got a quote from Vroom and I was surprised at their offer. It was about $1500 higher than most others. Has anyone else here or might you know anyone that got a vehicle quote or sold a used car to them? Thanks in advance for your replies. They will come to pick the car up at no charge or if you choose to trade it in locally they will even buy the car from the dealer if the dealer agrees. This will allow the full value to be deducted as a trade to save on sales taxes in states that deduct trade-ins. Carvana was also very aggressive with their offer. Both were nearly 2K over KBB used car trade in value in good condition.

Never heard of it until now. Sounds interesting. Although I generally get great trade in offers. I don't have a problem selling a car myself(besides the idiots that find you on craigslist), but the last two trade I got want I wanted for a private sale.

I know what people think " they got you somewhere else", but I actually negotiated the deal first for no trade, and still got great deals, even got a CX5 WAY under avg and still got what I wanted for my trade because I had detailed it and the buyer said it was the nicest car they had ever seen for trade. I turned down the first offer and I right before I signed the manager came back and said he would give me 500 under what I was asking online because they didn't need to recondition anything.(when he walked another salesman was like "I have never even heard of that happening before") I would have taken 1000 under It sold in under 48 hours from their lot from what I could tell.

They are online. You have probably seen one of the many Carvana comercials on TV advertising the new way to buy a car without the car salesman. These internet companies are growing rapidly and just like online retail sales are changing the way people shop at brick and morter stores the same is happening with car sales. Carvana is thus far the most successful to this point. They are predicting grocery shopping is next with 80% of that business to go online in the coming years. It's a whole new world out there when it comes to retail.

These sites are using information such as rebates (and many times forget to add them all or are late in updating them) and the invoice or supplier pricing which still leaves thousands on the table for a savvy buyer, so to me they are there in the dealers interest but as a convenience for buyers who don't mind a retail experience.

NOT FOR ME! I looked at three sites last week when the wife bought a new Highlander and all showed no rebate (other than college grad or military) and about a $2,800 discount. Any day of the week a buyer should be able to get 10% off (I got 11.86%) which is easily $1,200 or more higher than what these sites show.

I sold my 2015 BMW M3 on VROOM. They gave me the best offer against carvana, carmax, individual dealerships and even private sales. It was super straight forward and after everything was completed with paperwork and such they sent a truck driver and I met with him near the freeway and got my money within a day or 2.
