Anybody convert 5th geb ZL from TR6060 to automatic ????

Looking to make the switch. Cant find much info on anyone who has converted from TR6060 6 speed to an auto. Preferably the 6L90 or a TH400. My car is heavily modified. It makes 904HP to the wheels on E85 and meth. Fully built internals. We race mostly 60 to 130 and I could shave some time with the auto. So, anybody done this before or can you steer me in the right direction? My builder is pushing me towards a TH400. I like the weaponx stage 3 6L90 but I'll be closer to 1000HP wheel very soon and I'm not sure if that unit can hold up....Looks like a few CTS V cars have made the switch but not many details on how they did it. I appreciate it!

A TH400 doesn't need at TCM a 6L90 does seems like it would be much easier, less cost and can be made bulletproof.

OK...thanks for confirming. That's what my builder is guessing as well. We are converting his 2006 Corvette Z06 using a TH400 this month. It is going to cost him 12K...Seems way more expensive than what the Camaro should cost. He's a little over 1100HP wheel already.

Why would you go backwards? Manual transmission makes these cars awesome.

An automatic is far superior to a manual for drag racing. faster shifts, more consistent and generally easier on the drivetrain.
