Sirus reception in my 5th Gen.

I know I'm beating a dead horse here, but I am hoping something has happened to get better reception of XL. I am not exagerating when I say, when I turn my Camaro north I lose reception. That is wierd, but overall reception is not all that good either.

Any advances in antennas? Anything? I'm about ready to drop the service.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I finally dropped the regular service and just stream it over my phone. Much cheaper (especially if you have several cars) and much better sound quality but as you know, some areas with poor phone reception you're SOL.

Reception is poor when there is an obstruction to the south of you, like a mountain , nearby hill, or building.

That's because the Sirius satellites are on a near-geosynchronous orbit which must be around the equator. So here in North America they are not far above the horizon and easily obstructed by obstacles to your south.

If I open my sunroof all the way the glass blocks it. I can’t listen to it most of the time even if it’s closed. I just cancelled it and Bluetooth everything now.

I have zero issues with mine. The occasional drop out if I'm under an overpass. Aside from that, all is good, even with the sunroof open.

Unlike our old car, a 2005 Grand Prix, which was always dropping out for any little obstruction.
