Finally a Gen 5 Owner

Well, back in April, I finally traded my reverseless 2006 G35 coupe for a 2014 1SS, stick, NPP, Blue Ray. I must say, what took so long for me to get one was the visibility issue. But, after driving the car for a while, I have my mirrors set just right and I can slice and dice my way around the GSP without too many scary moments. Now, out of nowhere, I find a ridiculous deal on a 2014 2LT RS Convertible, stick, Bright Yellow. I think I am really going to miss the V8 and that exhaust, but I rack up a lot of miles, so the extra mpg might be nice. And financially, it's a great move. I have about 23k on mine and the vert has less than 5k. That's another year of maintenance, tires, brakes, wear and tear for me. Don't know which way to go.

I love my v6... But I don't think there's any way I could go from an ss to a v6 personally. Unless the deal is just absolutely insane and your not gonna loose your ass on your trade in(which I imagine if it was bought in April will be the case), I would stick with the ss. But it's all about priority and if you wanna do it and think it's the smarter choice don't let me stop you lol

It's the top...I want a convertible. If it was a hard top or auto or wasn't a loaded 2LT RS, I wouldn't be thinking about it. The only thing it doesn't have is Nav.

It would be hard to go from a 6.2L to a 3.6L.. And I love these motors. But it would also be hard for me to go from a 2LT/RS to a 1SS, I like my bells and whistles!

If you're a power junkie then stay with what you have, if you don't care so much about performance and just like to cruise around then go for it, it would be nicer car.

The other thing you have to consider is the winter.. Is this your DD all year round? Would you want to run the convertible all year long? I store mine for the winter and have a different car as my DD.

this big time, if it is your DD which it sounds like it is do you want that salt and all that snow putting all that weight on the top. I would keep the SS and buy winter tires for it. Think about all the factors that will come into play.

Don't do it. If you want a vert, get an SS vert.
