is it totaled?

What do you all think? Totaled? I jumped a curb so the entire underbody is probably pretty messed up. Exhaust I could visibly see was bent side ways, side airbags deployed. I opened up the hood and noticed fluid leaking and oil splashed around I think. Passenger side door is also going to need to be replaced and the bumper as you can see is going to have to be totaled replaced. And the passenger side back side fender is messed up as well.

Story: So today I was in an accident with my 2012 2LT/RS. I have a green light, continue through, a car takes a left into a shopping center at the light and crosses into my lane I swerve to avoid the car jump the curb and through a pole. All airbags deployed and I ripped my seatbelt off, cut through the airbags with my knife and climbed out the car (doors wouldn't open from the inside). I didn't get a chance to look at my car as I was quickly put in a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance and rushed to the hospital. Nothing series, possible concussion and going to be really sore tomorrow. Thankful I'm alive.

I would say yes with the car sitting on its side like that.

Ouch. I imagine you were thrown from the vehicle and, laying on the pavement on your side, snapped this photo with your cell phone camera. Then again, I like the Rambo knife story better - but it does not explain why the photo is on it's side.

That said, sorry about the accident. Frame and under side damage will help determine total value of the damage and then where the insurance may be on paying -- I'd hope for a total, myself, so you can replace.

The picture needs to be turned 90* clockwise for starters--hence the birds with tilted heads. Fix photos before you post them, if you want people to take a hard look.

A single photo of nonspecific damage taken from far away isn't very helpful. There really isn't a single thing that totals a vehicle, aside from very obvious losses (complete burn) and things like immersion in salt water. Collision damage- there's a lot that can be hidden.

Ask your insurance adjuster if it's totaled. He gets to make the call, and he'll do it based on market value of the vehicle and the estimate for collision damages.

I imagine you posted the photo directly from your cell phone, which tends to come in rotated 90 degrees. Go to the page on a PC (like most of us do) and you will see what we mean. VERY HARD to assess a photo when it's rotated.

See! If you turn your computer monitors sideways then the picture will make better sense!

probably appropriate that this thread is three threads below the "traction control, WTF" thread.
