Latest Camaro Reveal Rumor...

It won't be at a show. It will be somewhere else in the late Spring.

Let the speculation begin!

Heh, I was starting to think the Camaro would have it's own show back in December. Hmm, when is the Indy 500?

Having it's own show is a bit presumptuous. Expecting that the entire automotive press will show up for a show with just one car may seem pretty cool, but you wouldn't get the world press there.

Still guessing NY. If not the big splash will be just a little ripple. So you could suggest Indy, not sure if the Pace Car has been announced yet. What other NA event would work that could get the biggest press coverage?

Keep in mind, they could simply show it on the internet. In the modern world maybe that goes viral and you get a new kind of bang. But generally, you want as much press as possible.

A Chevy rep at our local new car show told me New York.
Who knows if he really knows. Most likely not.

Ford didn't seem to have any trouble getting attention for the Mustang reveal. Not sure what would prevent GM from doing the same thing.

I wouldn't be surprised if New York was focused on Cadillac. They just moved the HQ there and they are revealing the CT6.

Everyone keeps mentioning that but the fact is Cadillac is not targeting the same market...model or brand. Maybe teaser in NY and full unveil at separate event after?

They aren't the same market but the Camaro will be a major attention grabber. The CT6 is going to need all the attention it can get.

Didn't they do something simular to this when then 5Th gen was unveiled? Didn't unveil it at a big show til after a small event? Back then there didn't seem to be much of a problem getting attention for the event but I dunno. I may be wrong or possibly confused lol

Ugh.. more waiting. It would be nice if they published a real time and place and then slowly revealed details until that date. Not only would it build excitement but it would allow us lowly drones a chance to see the official reveal. I was at the Detroit show in 06 when they revealed the 5th gen and it was a great experience and stole the show (even with Challenger across the way).

If my memory is correct, the 5th gen production car was revealed at the GM's Tech Center on a live stream and with press coverage.

Edit: Here's the video of the reveal, enjoy.
