Upgraded Gears in 2010 A6 V6 - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I remember reading about the gears we have in our auto V6's but I don't remember where and what they were so can someone refresh me on that first off. Second off, has anyone upgraded to the Auto gears in the SS?
People I work with are telling me I can go to a fabrication shop and they can fabricate any sized gears I want in a sense.
Is this true? Also, there is no way to put the 3.91 gears in my car without completely changing the rear-end correct?

Honestly I think the 2010 Automatic had the same differential as the SS and the v6 Manual. I dont they changed it until 2012. I may be wrong though.

Edit: I was wrong you have a different differential. I am sure there are a few with 3.91 gears already installed somewhere. I know that 2SSRS was selling complete 1le Diffs.

Yeah but the 1LE is a manual, i would rather not have to swap out the rear end. Just upgrade the gears...

Here is a thread with more information about gear swaps. Unfortunately your options are limited with the stock differential in the V6 A6 models.
