Rear Camber

The solution for front camber on a ZL1 is the Moreno camber plates. What about rear camber? I understand that the max stock is around -1.6 or so. Any solutions to more negative camber in the back? I would think it would be beneficial to get to -2 at least.

Im not sure about the zl1, but i put bmr toe rods on my ss 1le which facilitated -2.5 camber in the rear

Our rear geometry gains camber when loaded (unlike the front). I’m running -1.7 rear and still wear the inside 1/2 the tire most on track. Also- 650hp needs all the surface are possible to lay down power, the more negative camber= the less surface are under accel. Mid-engined Porsches don’t need -2.5 camber in the rear, much less our cars.

Thanks! I'll go with the most I can get stock for now and see how I like it before messing with it.

What is giving you this impression? Are you measuring tire temperatures across the tread to see how they're making contact? Tire wear alone?

Just planning ahead. Current car I run -3.5 front, -2.75 rear. Generally speaking R compound tires like at least -2.

The long wheelbase, rigid chassis and good rear geometry means we don't need much camber or toe out back. I run -2.75-3.0 in the rear of my 964 C2 and a TON of toe in. Trailing arm rear suspensions (like an e36 m3) lose toe and camber when loaded up, unlike the multilink on our cars. You don't want to try and drive an e36 M3 with .10 degrees total toe in (SS 1LE track spec from GM) on the rear....

What are you running in the front on the 1LE?

What kind of car? If they have different suspension geometry, what works on one may not work on the other...

E46 M3. I am thinking tire performance rather than car type. I will be the first to say I am new to the Camaro and have no idea what set up makes it go fast around a race track.

I would probably start with what GM recommends in the performance supplement and go from there. You can buy a cheap tire pyro and get your own data based off the tracks you drive etc. and adjust as needed.

I'd echo Sean's comments.

I'm using the performance supplement track alignment and it worked well at Road Atlanta and RoadAmerica with Hoosier R7's.

Recommend you start there. I run with some E46 guys and they do run a lot more rear camber.

Looking fwd to seeing you at RoadAmerica this year!
