Anyone recently used Classic Chevy Bodyshop?

After my car got keyed yesterday I was trying to find a dealership to take it to for insurance repairs. I drive from Dallas to classic chevy in grapevine to get my cars fixed because their service center is awesome but I've never used their body shop. Can't really find many reviews except 1 from a few years ago where someone wasn't happy.

I haven't ever used Classic's body shop, except for some warranty work way back in 2010.

I have however used Autonation's body shop in Fort Worth. DON'T. They did a terrible job replacing the front bumper on my Synergy, paint wasn't even close to matching and they couldn't even get the fog light bezels to fit right. Terrible.

I have had great sales and service from Classic, but I've never had paintwork done there. However, I was really impressed by one thing when taking delivery of my Z/28. There was a small (but significant, on a new car) ding on the right front fender. This was right on the horizontal crease/character line, and I was ready to walk away at that point -- I was pretty mad since this was a car I'd ordered and waited on for the better part of a year.

However, they have a guy on staff -- Wade Landers -- who does paintless dent repair. He did a fantastic job and the repair is completely invisible. I was impressed that they keep someone like that on-staff, instead of farming it out to a subcontractor.

I had 7500 dollars worth of hail damage repaired there a few years ago. I would not go back. The paint work it self is good, and has held up well, but it was the small details that I slowly discovered that would keep me from going back.

Over spray on both passenger doors, and failure to blend in the panels as I was promised. If you use them, get it all in writing, and check it very carefully before you leave.

That must be new because my experience over a year ago wih their outsourced dent repair guy was horrible. He did such a crappy job that the bodyshop had to clean up the dent guys mess

OP i don't trust classic with my service but if their body shop is run like their service dept then it is not good. I hated their service so much that I had them cancel the service contract and refunded me the difference

Well I got it back today, the paint work seems good. A lot better than the car was in when I took it in even before the vandalism. I would to say that where they are lacking is the cleanup work and for that I would recommend not going there. They called me yesterday and said it was done so I drove about 45 minutes in traffic over there to get it and when looking at the car they had failed to put my camaro emblem back on the fender and also there was a small scratch on the newly painted fender, really hard to see but it was there. There was also leftover schmutz on the fender and in the crevices where the panels meet I guess from where they had buffed it or whatever. So I had to drive home without my car back come back this morning so they could clean it up. Everything was fine this morning and then I noticed the Camaro emblem was put on with one of the A's crooked, by then I just f you and left. I had a spare set of side badges in my toolbox at home and just fixed it myself because I wasn't going to sit there and wait an hour for them to fix it.

I traded an 08 Vette for my Camaro but the Vette got rear ended after I'd had it for about 2 months. Took it to Service King they did an outstanding job. matched the paint perfectly you can even keep up with the repairs online.
