kinda strange that C&D puts their manual SS at 12.3 which puts it #4 on the fast list, while managing to come up with 118mph... a full 2mph faster than the best mph of 116 on the fast list and 5 mph faster than the Edmunds car.

They only managed 115 from the mustang which has shown to at least mph as strong as the SS, the data so far shows the GT traps higher.

this is why watch what the cars do in the real world and draw my conclusions

C&D definitely got the best results. They also got the best results for the Auto if I remember, but the ET is hardly out of line. Remember, C&D is correcting their numbers too, which the fast lists are not.

Also why would the Mustang manual numbers be surprising to anyone? It gained some power yes, but it has equal gearing to the SS M6 and is significantly heavier. Without a gearing advantage to make up for it's heft and lack of low end TQ, it was not going to close the ground that much.

Obviously Chevy sent C&D a ringer to use. , This seems to be the excuse every time the GT has a good pass.

Shame C&D didnt test the A10 GT seeing as they use sea level as a correction factor and we know the GT has trapped 118+ in those conditions. Guess Evan's ringer was unavailable.

You were reaching in your ringer quote I sited because the only point being made then was that Ford sent a Pro in an ideal setting to get an ideal time. Don't soil your pants thinking that was just the beginning because it was accomplished in the first weeks

Evan's best pass happened in worse conditions than C&D's correction factor.

and Ford didnt send the car.

Ok Evan's a pro... BFD you dont have to be Don Prudhomme to dial in the launch of a modern muscle car. Shallow staging and whether or not the car wants the suspension loaded or the hit from the converter flash doesn't require an NHRA license.

Car and Driver has only tested two manual transmission 6th gen Camaro SS:

'16 Camaro SS Long term (Initial test) 1/4 mile: 12.3 @ 118mph
'16 Camaro SS Long term (Final test at 40k miles) 1/4 mile: 12.3 @ 118mph (obviously different day from test above)
'17 Camaro SS 1LE 1/4 mile: 12.4 @ 116mph

So C&D is consistently getting 12.3-12.4 quarter mile times out of the manual transmission Camaro SS.

You'll get your same day, same track, same driver datapoint from future comparison tests. I know MT is running a Head2Head now with manual transmission cars.
