How are you guys paying for a new ZL1

Just out of curiosity, wondering if there are options I'm not thinking of.

I'm currently considering upgrading to the 17' 1LE or the 17' ZL1. Even financed at 72 months with the best rate offered for "well qualified" buyers at my credit union, is 1.69%.

Any of you guys figuring a way to finance one of these at 0%?

I'd have thought you'd sell your soul!

Just....saving...budgeting...sizable down payment, and a good rate on a loan.

I've worked hard to be able to purchase all my cars outright. Certainly have found that there are pros and cons to that. First I certainly would not take $70K in actual cash into a dealership, foolish on so many levels, but when you mention at a US brand car dealership that you'll be paying cash, it's like you just insulted them. Advantage is getting the exact amount for a cashiers check in advance means no pushy sales job for all their crap add-ons when you arrive. That alone has made it worth it, and I specifically have the checks made out to the dealership OR me, that way if there is some egregious error (which 34 miles is not), then I can still walk.

Thanks for the responses gents.

I'm thinking of throwing 15-20k on a credit card vs down payment (then pay it off) so I can get the cash back / miles. Was curious if anyone had similar ideas.

Seriously though I plan to finance everything to get the current $1000 down payment promotion from GM and avoid having to deal with a certified check. Then I will pay down or pay off earlier when I sell one of the cars. I have one car that I financed and haven't paid more payments toward since it was cheap money. The GM rate is 4.9 which isn't cheap money.

What credit union are you with to get 1.69 for 72 months?
