Complaint in GM FOB Lawsuit: Cho v. GM.

For anybody interested in the class action litigation relating to FOBs from GM, I pulled the original complaint filed in the USDC in California. Here it is. A little long, but an interesting read.

https://www.classaction.org/media/ch...rs-company.pdf

And the Kazerouni Law Group who filed this class action is no joke, and neither is the lawsuit. Out of sheer curiosity I'm going to reach out to them when I get some time and try and talk to an attorney or paralegal on the case and see if anybody else can be added to the class outside of California.

I find anything out, I'll post it back here.

I didn't see mention of the OBD port hack which is the other way the cars are being stolen.

I reached out to them a couple days ago. An intake specialist had a rep reach out via email this morning to talk. I left my number and waiting on the call back. I havent had my car taken but was interested in 2 things. It doesn't list the tablet hack method I want to make sure that is stated. I don't think many people aside from us who have really been following it realize this. And is there going to be the remedy/comp for people buying IGLAs/Compustars, taking alternate methods of transportation, had their windows broken but cars not stolen or any other variable. Other class actions normally have other groups covered as well.

exactly someone who has had theirs stolen needs to be added for that or start their own which will inevitably be combined anyway.

Good deal, ls1ya. Glad you got ahold of somebody. I'm wondering these things, too. I just got a voicemail. Will be interesting the issues you brought up and see what they say. They want all the people they can get, so I guarantee if you could be part of the class you'll hear something. Keep us posted. I'll try again tomorrow.

And if anybody does try to call, me and ls1ya ran into the same hurdle. The number the firm put on the complaint didn't work, and we had to call (949) 612-9999. But now the 800 number on the complaint is working.

Maybe we called at peak times, ls1ya, and maybe their phones were overloaded with other pissed off Camaro owners. One can hope, right? But either number will work for anybody that wants to check up on this.

Sure thing, Ventmaster. Will do. Probably nothing will come of it, but I'm just really dang curious. But no telling. If the class could be everybody around the United States, and they can get thousands to join the class, it might get some legs. You never know.

interesting read though it seems that they are mixing up/using interchangeably a replay attack and a relay attack. The one youtube video using a flipper zero is definitely a replay attack, which for all the information I can find the 6th generation camaro is not actually susceptible to.

If you are a 6th Gen. Camaro owner, you need to do this today.
Call GM customer service and demand an security Update 1-800 222-1020. Just like JLR did for it customers for new and older vehicles. I have. If they get enough complaints that might just help us out. Even with thousands spent on security prevention we get broken windows due to this issue being know via tiktok.

Thanks for posting this here as well, L2SS455, as in my other thread. I'm on it tomorrow. Might not make a difference at all, but it can't hurt. I appreciate it. They need to do something, but honestly I'm not holding my breath.
