What is the price differance? Here regular is $1.96 and diesel is $2.19 not really a big change. IMO diesel is the future of light duty trucks. My 15 Ram 4x4 Laramie EcoDiesel is getting 25+ mpg city, and 28-32 mpg hwy. The torque peak is very low in the rpm range and just where you need it.

These new GM diesel twins should be great small truck options.

Like $3500 between the V6 and Duramax.

Ok I read it as fuel prices and not the option markup. The extra cost of $3,500.00 is high but I think this is a very good investment if you plan to keep the vehicle long term.

Read the Motortrend article. Almost 48K for the Z71 4x4 Duramax Trail Boss. Wow.

Only one problem with it is that its not offered in a the Ext cab unless u want a fleet vehicle. Poor decision cause your losing sales to people like me who dont want or like crew cab pick up cause they are already 2k more expensive than a similar equipped Ext cab version. But i will sell and it will do great and id love one but i cant do crew cabs.

+1 I'd like it in a W/T extra cab... No can do unless you find an "in" somehow.

That is one of the problems I have with diesel options, the price of the fuel is so damn inconsistent. IIRC last summer diesel was much cheaper than 87, then a few months ago diesel was around 50-60 cents a gallon higher than regular and now its almost the same price as 87 again.

Both Chevy and Ram are stupid when it comes to their pricing of light duty diesels.

The minimum price of entry on a Ram 1500 Diesel is either just under or just over $40,000...you have to get an up-trim model.

You can't get into a CanyonRado baby Duramax for less than about the same.

At 29,000...I'm a buyer...at $40,000 I'm into a much more capable price bracket.

So... Even though I don't think I'll get one because I can't get it configured the way I want, I'd still like to drive a diesel and at least know that I've experienced it.

Here it is, mid March, and my local dealer still hasn't had one on the lot. When I asked when they would be getting one I was told that, "They were on a hold due to all the VW diesel scandle issues, and we won't be getting any until this fall"...

Any truth to this? First I've heard, but I figure they would have had some on the lot by now. They did have four 3.6 trucks on the lot... But no diesel.
