Paint protection films worth it?

Hey guys i'm thinking of doing a Ziebart protective film to my 13 1LE..It's 9 mil film and suppose to be the leading film..
I was quoted what I think is a pretty good price of 1000 plus tax.
The workmanship is guaranteed for 10 years and the film has a life time warranty on it.
The place i'm going to is in syracuse, NY...if I do a google search on them I can't really find to much on them, so If anyone has experience with them please post?
They say that they stand behind there product 100 percent and gaurantee i will love it...
So my question is this: Do you feel the protective films are worth the cost?
Are they a great alternative to getting rock chips/blemishes?
Basically looking for people's experiences with this company or the others you may have gone with?
Pros/cons? Should I do this??????????????

Eric

I went through The Specialists here in Tucson. They use 3M film. Under $500 for the nose, A-pillars, mirror fronts, door edges, and door handle cups. It has a 5 year warranty. I have no rock chips in the front area of the car, but they miraculously find the areas that aren't covered (above windshield, wiper arm). You may consider the gill area of the rear fenders as well.
I also bought the Headlight Armor for all the front lights. Its very heavy and rubbery. Never had a chip or pitting in the lights. A great investment for less than $60.

The price seems a bit high, but you're really paying for the life-time warranty. If you plan to have the car that long, then it may be worth it. I would certainly go with a clear bra, whatever company you decide to go with.

I had clear bra installed locally and couldn't be happier. I only wish I'd done the gill area too. Way worth every penny. I paid $350 for the front bumper & fascia. For another $20. they did a strip along my door edges.

Wandered the paint protection booths at Sema this year. The booth with all the attention was a product made by Suntek.
I grabbed the canadian reps number if your interested. They also said their product was number one, but then they demonstrated by taking a wire brush to the hood of a black bentley that they'd just covered. Messed it up real good. Then applied heat to the scratches and it self healed. You couldnt even tell where it was on the car. They said that just the heat from the engine can do the repairs. I wouldnt believe it II f i hadnt seen it..
Needless to say, its my first roadtrip when our snow is gone....to go to the installer and have it applied.
Good stuff.
