I carry a shitload of stuff. I just sold the Camaro and was kind of shocked at how much stuff I carried in it. Then again, that's why I wanted a truck.

Glove box: A pair of (clean) work gloves, two pens, a couple extra straws, a handful of napkins, $75 in small bills, insurance/reg, and the owners manual.

Console: Tire pressure gage, phone charging equipment, an old iPod, radar detector, LED flashlight, folding utility/pocket knife, and a couple pairs of latex gloves as part of basic first aid (more supplies in trunk).

Trunk: Fullsize spare, lug wrench, scissor jack, compressor/goo. Jumper cables, flares, fire extinguisher, a blanket, a tarp, a folding shovel, an axe, duct tape, basic first aid supplies, some power bars and water pouches, a folding saw, and a few basic tools, and a tow strap. Most of it lives in a bag that is transient between whichever vehicle I'm driving for the day. Oh, and some rope, a poncho, and a few disposable plastic seat covers (thanks, service guy at the dealership).

Plus an extra t-shirt, and boots during the winter.

One could argue I'm well equipped for murder... Or, I've been stranded in sudden snowstorms, or blocked by tree blowdowns (very common on the 3 mile stretch of road leading to our house, and it takes forever for utility workers to get out there), I've changed flat tires on the side of the road in the rain. I've also arrived at gas stations where card readers weren't working and I didn't know how much farther the next gas station was.

I don't think everyone needs to carry that stuff, but it sure helps versus having nothing especially when you live in a rural area like I do.

I keep a cell phone charger, a dedicated clean 22mm deep socket for the lugs, and the front license plate. My Colt XSE lightweight .45 Commander and 2 extra Tripp mags are on my hip in Alessi holsters. They go where I go no matter what i drive

I don't keep it in the car I keep it on me. I'd never leave a gun in a car.

Because (and there's no way for me to say this without being offensive), I don't trust you with a gun any more than I trust a criminal with a gun. I don't know you, and I hate the American culture of thinking carrying around a gun can protect you from something.

And carrying guns in cars increase the risk of fatal road rage incidents for absolutely no reason.

When are you leaving since you hate the American culture?
