Cost-effective option to add more oomph to 2010 2SS exhuast?
I have a 2010 Camaro 2SS L99 with stock everything.
I'm looking for an affordable method to get my exhaust sounding a bit more girthy and full-hearted without breaking the bank. Most of the threads on here are installing complete exhuast pipes and sets. Is there any type of add-ons for the Camaros that can achieve this sound difference? I'm not looking for an increase in HP or anything, just a slight change of the sound produced. |

Cut off the muffler's and replace with a piece of pipe.

No No No...muffler delete and axle back exhaust using the current tips welded back on some custom bent pipes.

Go with long tube headers! It will add sound and power. They can bolt up to the stock catback and you could go with or without cats.

I had a local muffler shop do a resonator delete and Flowmaster Super 10s. Kept the factory H pipe. Sounds awesome. Deep growl, but not too loud. Cost me $400.

Also, a CAI definitely improved the sound of my LLT. My LS3 had one on it when I bought it so I don't know how much of a difference it makes on the SS.

Absolutely not. I installed mine in my garage using a jack and stands and a few hand tools. No cutting or welding required.

It took me 3.5 hours to install an air intake that most people said they got installed in 30 minutes so....this might not be the best option for me |

You are going to have to spend a couple dollar to get things done right. Eliminating that big ugly resonator in the middle of your exhaust will help. Replacing it with an x-pipe or straight pipe will help. A few dollars at a muffler shop will see it done right and not break the bank. Dont go crazy hacking things off then finding it to loud or raspy. Then you'll find yourself spending double to fix. Do some more research and take it a step at a time.

Muffler delete and/or high flow cats are the two most cost effective ways to improve sound.

I recommend longtube headers w/ a SOLO exhaust.. or at the least a cat back SOLO setup..
