Would you do this...
My 2SS is at status 2000 and the specs are in my sig. It's not going to be my year round DD car, but will be during the warm weather. I've already got a good car for when I have to strap my son into a car seat or things are going to get messy.
That being said, the dealer has a certified 2014 black Z28 with only 650 miles on it sitting in their lot. It can be had for roughly the same price. Decisions, decisions....thoughts?

For rare factor, you can't beat the Z28. Tough decision.

Very cool car indeed. It really depends on what you want out of what you are getting. Also don't forget that the Z/28 has very expensive brakes and tires on it. That car can. Ost you much more than just the pruchase price. For me, I love the Z/28. However, it just isn't practical enough for me to give up my ZL1. I'm waiting for the first year bugs to get worked out then I'll be a buyer for a gen6 SS.

Saw domething similar several months ago. Does this car have A/C? Basic radio??? Those could be a factor in price. Can you live with those two things?

Better have a good back "Legends" are a very un compliant experience. It will be a valuable investment ....in time, if that is what you are looking for. From me to you factor this in I spent my last 2 years in a C7 corvette, those cars can be lowered about 1/2 " or so more than they come from factory. What an amazing car, I will not bore you with exactly how amazing that car performed, what I will share will in a way parallel your experience. Mine was my daily driver and unless you plan on using it as a track only car,be prepared for a scene from "Frogger" at any moment , tire treads and many other things in the road constantly, never being able to pull into any place with even the hint of a rise for you will scrape, On the other hand with the SS I go any where I want and watch stuff pass right underneath with no issues ... When I want to get on it ... I beat it until I have had my fill and it keeps on giving...your choice is indeed twin sons' of different mothers. While the Z is definitely a special car, one whose performance that is already being surpassed by other models depending on which article you read ( GT-350) by cars that also give you some creature comforts (killer stereo ect/Nav)...in the end your $$$ brother either way you cannot lose !!! All the best

I came close to buying a black on black Z28 two months ago for like 50K. I drove it, was nice, but I just couldn't get past the interior and all the other 5th gen shortcomings. Good things come to those who wait...

+1 to the above as well.
Sat in a Grey Z28 after checking out the 2016 SS. Sure the Z28 looks hot and has a 7.0L. But the interior SUCKS. Would hate driving it.

Oh damn! That is tough. If it is just a fun car (not a DD) then I'd probably go for the Z/28. Actually I don't know. That is a tough one.

Then again, why would you buy a 50k Chevy when you could buy a BMW? Lol

just go with the gen6. its already pretty high up there performance wise when compared to the z28, but with all the interior goodies that the raw z28 lacks.

God, you guys are hitting all the same questions that ran through my head. The interior is just awful...actually just the dash is but not the seats. The 2SS I ordered has the 6 piston Brembos, so I'm not sure how much more it will cost for brakes? This one definitely has got a radio.
I'm just thinking that you could add a blower to it and combined with the handling, this thing would destroy a GT350. With Callaway right near me, that would make this one incredible car to own. My problem is that I won't be on the track with it nearly as much as I will be on the road. Our roads are also full of potholes, dips, etc. It will be bottoming out for sure.
