If you are getting a ZL1 in a couple of years, I would just save the money and put it towards the new car or headers for the new car.

How are you out of factory warranty? It's 5 year 100K miles.

I say cam, headers, cold air intake, ect. You will enjoy the sound of the cam every time you stop. The thrill of the supercharger probably should not be enjoyed on the street.

Yeah, what he said. $4-$5k won't even really buy the supercharger unless it's used. Hard to find a new one at that price unless there are other variables like 2nd hand and was uninstalled by previous buyer, etc. The "other" route is your best bet. Up'ing the budget to $7k makes your plans more of a reality, but it's still right on the cusp. I just bought a Whipple 4.0 and it was $7200 which was the cheapest I could find. The smaller 2.9 will run over $6k. If you want to know where I got this killer deal at...pm me and I'll put you in contact with the business.

Not trying to...I was just chiming in...not bragging or anything. Just showing OP I have a legit business to recommend him to if he was truly wanting to supercharge. I could post pics of the sweet ass DART engine block, All-Pro heads, billet rods, Diamond pistons, etc. if I wanted to thread jack. Hahahaha!!

I vote Whipple if it can be done within your budget. Lots of guys would love a supercharger/turbo system, etc if it weren't for the cost along with other upgrades that are necessary to handle that type of power.

Either way, if warranty is not a concern, then I tend to agree with the cam/headers crowd. If it were me, and my future plans were a car like the ZL1 1LE, I would want to put myself in the best possible bargaining position when that time came. While spending money on this car will make it more fun to drive, it is money you won't get back. My other point is that it will cost more in annual maintenance while you have it. All of which may not be a concern to you, but for a poor workin' stiff like me, something like this takes planning and patience, two qualities I am yet to master, lol. |

OP
AGP TT it, add nothing else. Unlike SC, don't need headers, money saved there. When you're ready to trade in for the '17 ZL1 1LE in two years time, take off the TT kit, you'll be back to stock ; ). Sell AGP TT kit on here, which is a very rare occurrence, it will sell quickly |
