Lemon Law in Michigan is 30 days of repair, or 4 attempts at the same problem. Currently only at 3 attempts and 10 days of it being out of commission. Whether it being "fixed" at this point would bring back the new car feeling I don't think so, hopefully GM takes that into consideration. No offense to the service tech but I don't think I can ever feel as confident in the car as when everything was assembled at the factory and it rolled off the line in "perfect" condition. I realize that my ZL1 is covered under warranty for all of these repairs but the lost time during the peak of Summer along with potentially getting this car back and having to question if I am smelling burning oil and worrying about it starting to leak again is a huge inconvenience.

It's piece of mind as well.. If this were to happen in the 4-5 year of ownership I'd still be upset but know things happen. Because this happened not even in a couple months if ownership, I too would not feel like I bought a "new" car, you will always worry about the car having problems in the future. Yeah warranty covers it now but whether you bought extended warranty or not, personally I wouldnt feel like I could ever enjoy my new car.

You better get a new one, this is total foolishness. GM needs to make this right.

The only reasonable answer from GM, after multiple repair attempts, is to replace the drive train. New engine, new tranny.

Any reasonable person could not be expected to have any long term confidence with what you have now.

I feel for you Cam. I went through a similar problem with a Pontiac years ago and, unfortunately, it was never resolved. That was the old GM.

This is supposed to be the new GM, but, keep in mind that the corporate "wheels", just like government, turn slowly. Hopefully you get this resolved in your best interest.

They are watching and listening to this forum.

A repair at this point is a bad deal.

Edit: Give your dealer and the situation a little more time. An attorney at this point will screw it all up.

Wow! Sorry to hear about these issues but so far besides the power steering issue I had, no other issues have arose and I'm at 1467 miles right now. Sounds like someone had a brain fart at work when they put that engine together. Hope all works out for tou.

Get me some sugar and water, we've got ourselves a nice lemon here!

On a more serious note, thanks for taking the time to update everyone with photos and background info. Without a doubt it seems they are trying to fix a car that is beyond repair or close to it. If I had just spent $60k on a ZL1 I would expect nothing less than perfection. With that being said I understand some slip through the cracks and it seems like GM should step up here with a new car for you.

I would be beyond mad at this point in the process and it appears you are showing some serious reserve with the matter. There is no way I would ever feel the same about a car I had personally driven the oil out of over and over. Like you said before, the tech has no control on a malfunctioning car and his work could be spot-on but the fact that the car has seen the shop so many times over and over I would never have confidence in its ability to perform down the road.

At this point since that new car feeling is gone .. I'd ask them to drop a crate 572 w/ new manual trans, and exhaust. Have them pay for half of the cost.!! kidding.. Sucks what you are going through; Once a lemon always a lemon.. I'd push for a new production replacement 2013 ZL1
